No trimming of the leather. On one side I was able to use hog clips to tightening things up. I then used a Velcro strap to tighten the two sides together.

I trimmed the foam on my seat myself. Just get a nice sharp exacto knife and take your time. I did this after an upholstery shopped butchered a cushion.

The ones I bought were bolted to a half palate and then padded and wrapped. This of course required freight shipping.
