    Dead Battery

To answer your question yes, a fully flat battery or one that won't take a charge will do this. If it's only been flat once you may be able to charge it, but if not you'll need to swap in a new one. For storage, if you have access to an outside window where you store your car you can get a...

Issue with VTEC errors / slugish power - solved!

could be. I have no idea when they put the aftermarket pump in, but it may be that it failed prematurely as it looked fairly new. I trust the parts from Honda Japan that lasted 30+ years.

Issue with VTEC errors / slugish power - solved!

I was trying to read the gauge without my glasses on. In checking Today the pressure shows over 40 at idle: It's like a new car. I don't think it ran this well when I took delivery last year. You could previously feel a little blip when it went to VTEC, where now it's just a smooth power band...

    Newbie coil cover question

From the picture it looks like the stud on the right side is shorter. You can measure those to confirm. If that's the case then it's possible / likely that the right stud got turned, so turning it counter clockwise may sort it out. I'd put a couple of layers of painters tape over the jaws of...

    Newbie coil cover question

It could also be that you got the collar upside down on that side. Take the cover off and confirm that you have them both on correctly. I seem to recall I did the same once and was scratching my head for a few minutes...

Issue with VTEC errors / slugish power - solved!

I don't think so, but I'll be swapping those in the spring just to be thorough  Fred

Issue with VTEC errors / slugish power - solved!

It couldn't have been too many, as the car only has 48K on it. My guess is they upgraded the stock pump to the higher flow pump to get better fuel pressure. Otherwise I have no idea how they could have worn out the stock pump in so few miles? Now I have a gauge for that, so going forward I'll...

Issue with VTEC errors / slugish power - solved!

Just sharing here in case anyone else hit this issue. Big thanks to user BTL3.0 for all the help and selling me coil packs! A few months ago I was on my way to a car show and the check engine light lit up. I was in the far left lane in 5th, but I managed to get to a nearby exit and shut down...

    why you keep your NSX

I would almost sell my house before I'd sell this car

    why you keep your NSX

The old simple cars like mine are tanks. Everything in between is questionable. I look at most modern American cars and think "rental car".

    why you keep your NSX

I was looking at the Corvette last year when I bought my '91 NSX. I hadn't gotten as far as looking into reliability issues as I just couldn't see myself in that car. I've always enjoyed Corvettes from afar, but never really bonded with the looks after the early Stingrays. The new ones to me...

NA1 NSX - check engine light tripping and rough at low RPMs?

The code comes back the same as 2 / 1. I'd agree with you that something else may be causing this. I'll have him run the above test and see if that may be off. Thanks and I'll keep you posted Fred

NA1 NSX - check engine light tripping and rough at low RPMs?

Sadly the used replacement solenoid failed after about 100 miles. Does anyone know where I can find a new replacement, Part # 15810-PR7-A00? Thanks in advance Fred

NA1 NSX - check engine light tripping and rough at low RPMs?

It's a 21/51 error. I have a new solenoid arriving Today and my mechanic is installing next Tuesday. Will report back and confirm if this sorts it. Thanks

What should timing belt / valve adjust service cost?

My poor mechanic was happy to let me deal with seeking out parts as it was taking him a lot of time to hunt things down, and they were taking forever to ship. Thanks to this place I've twice now found a part from a member in the US used in perfect working order for less $$ than I could get it...

What should timing belt / valve adjust service cost?

This. I never drop the car off before I have the parts in hand. I've twice had good luck up here with getting parts from the US vs Japan, so always post here and check the known dealers domestically before jumping on that Ebay listing, or you could be waiting 4 to 6 weeks for a part.

NA1 NSX - check engine light tripping and rough at low RPMs?

I took it to a tuner shop and we read the code. It's indeed a VTEC solenoid. If anyone has a good dealer for that please share. I'll go search myself and see if I can find an OEM part and replacement gasket. Nice to be sure before ordering parts. This site is a gods send for getting info on...

NA1 NSX - check engine light tripping and rough at low RPMs?

I'm having an odd issue on my NA1 NSX and I was hoping folks here could weigh in. I got a check engine light on the highway a couple of months ago, pulled off and shut it down, and checked that all fluids were good, temp down, etc. I restarted the car which reset the error and the car seemed...

    How critical is high mileage?

My windows are slow on a ‘91 with 43k miles, so that seems to be more about age than mileage.
