I repaired mine using the parts list posted in another thread and some basic soldering tools.
The work of removing capacitors and repairing disrupted traces is fairly straightforward and requires no knowledge of electrical components. I think I spent $500 in total on a Weller soldering iron and...
My windshield washer nozzles haven't worked correctly since having the car repainted. Since they work fine when the hood is raised but just dribble when it's closed I'm assuming there is an issue with how the hose is routed by this hinge.
Can anybody tell me what looks wrong here? Am the hose...
Can somebody walk me through the math of torque increase of a type-r final drive and short gears vs. a SOS supercharger?
I'm horrible at both math and physics, but it looks like going from a USDM to a type R gets you an increase of roughly 5% (4.062 vs 4.235) while the supercharger gets you an...
I'm having trouble understanding where the "to air" hose is that you're talking about. Do you mean the drain hose that runs from the HVAC unit to under the car?
If so, make sure the liquid is actually coolant and not just water. It is normal for condensation to form around the evaporator core...
Kicking this back up. For the OEM pieces the trick that worked for me is that you have to "assemble" the A and B pillars while off the car, and then place them on the car as a single unit before tightening everything down.
If you try to install one piece on the car, and then the other, you'll...
Check this thread-I bought the similar part for the CRV, kept the thermistor and swapped out the fan. Not difficult, saved about $100.

Thanks to both-look like the replacement ones in Legend's link are for all generations of 901.
I'm going to give them a shot...still wondering how close the sound is to what everybody heard in 1991 though.
EDIT: Just verifying-does this driver also work for the bass enclosure in the passenger...
Can you tell me more about this? Do you mean they are a physical fit plus the same resistance (1 ohm) or that they are identical in all ways including sound reproduction?
It looks like the 901 home theater speakers were originally released in 1968. It seems odd that Bose would be using the same...
Agree with @drew that the days of modding are probably behind us.
Reproduction of NLA parts (rear engine vent, driver's side front door sash) will probably be where the market is headed in the next few years.
The plastic tools are terrible for this! I used an old mainshaft the last time I had to do this job.
I don't have any part numbers but I would want to take the time to replace all the rubber seals as well. So VC gaskets, vtech gaskets (and bolts!), cam seals. Go ahead and do the AC pully...
The NSX is (unfortunately) becoming a collector car. Part of that transition is Honda making the choice to discontinue certain parts, and it means that we must come to terms with not everything being available at the Acura parts counter.
But the situation is still really good! The NSX is still...
Thanks for the input-I'm going to go with Helicoil but am having trouble figuring out what length the insert should be.
Helicoil has a chart that explains what length of insert to use, but it depends on knowing the sheer strength of the parent material and the tensile strength of the bolt. It...
I'm in the process of reinstalling the transmission after swapping in short gears. Last night I tried to torque the bolt that attaches the upper A arm to the rear subframe and the threads pulled out! The rear subframe is aluminum, the bolt is M10x1.25 and the torque value is 43 ft lbs.
What is...
Thank you for all the work you've put into Prime and the community!
I'm moving to Colorado next summer-hope to see you and some others owners when I get there.
Not that I've seen. Honestly, it's pretty good overall. Off the top of my head I can only think of four "mistakes" that I've run into while working on my 92.
1. Final drive gear has no marking to align to Diff case-FSM says out should be there.
2. Something about the crank end that I ran into...
I don't recall there being a single list. It's been years since I did mine but I think the power board also had a number of caps that often go bad. I would definitely replace those.
You could go through Kaz's database of repairs and see which areas are most common...
Complete set of OEM outer pillars. Weatherstripping is gone b/c bodyshop sprayed over it by accident and there is a small amount of under spray at the ends of both a-pillars. The under spray is mostly hidden by the hood/fender when these are installed.
Weatherstripping is available from SOS...
Bumping this back up. I'm thinking of ordering the JDM gears plus the 4.23 final drive for my '92.
Did Amayama send you the parts, or are you still waiting?
Hey @neuronbob what was the outcome?
When I was driving home from the GRM $2K challenge in Orlando the air coming out of my vents stayed cold on the way home but the volume of air through the vents steadily decreased even though the HVAC blower motor sounded fine.
When this happened my HVAC...
I've purchased a lot of parts from Germain Acura in Fort Myers and they've also done work on my NA1. They're probably the closest dealer.
There is at least a couple of NC1s in that area-I'd contact Joe Gutteri on FB and see if he knows where they are serviced.
