Out of the blue, my AC compressor started making a significant racket which I originally thought was an engine problem but thankfully was not. Up until that point, I believe the AC was functioning normally with R-12. Not absolutely sure as I seldom use the AC here in Vancouver Canada. The AC...
Shop with experience in replacing AC compressor & recharging system-Vancouver BC area
My compressor recently packed it in on my 91 NSX. I was planning on purchasing the Denso 4711424 compressor and the OEM ac converter kit 38020-SM4-A1AH. If done in BC, one is required to convert from R12 to...
Allow me to set the scene. I was driving my 91 NSX (which is a year past due for a timing/water pump replacement) back from the beach when it stalled for no apparent reason at an intersection. Shortly after it restarted there was a terrible noise coming from the engine bay. Fearing the worst I...
I need to do some major maintenance (timing belt/water pump/valve adjustment) on my 91 NSX in the near future. So.....does anyone have any recommendations for an experienced tech in the Greater Vancouver area?
Thanks
The lower door latch lever recently broke at the typical spot. I have disassembled the broken lever (see attached pic).
Are there any options to fix/replace other than the SOS replacement part?
Thanks
Has anyone tried out the newly opened Island Motor Sports Circuit on Vancouver Island? I am interested in getting impressions of the facility as I am tentatively going to try it out later this month. Thanks
Most recently I totally removed and cleaned the throttle body. In so doing, I played with the throttle cable adjustment and am not sure if the "free play" is within standards. Can any one explain how the free play is actually measured as it would seem to me that by applying a little more...
I successfully cleaned the throttle body but am now at my wits end trying to reattach the end of the throttle cable. What am I missing? Any hints on getting this done would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Suggestions for scenic travel itinerary - Vancouver Canada to St George Utah & back
Well I am planning on surprising my brother by attending a notable birthday dinner put on by his golfing buddies in Utah. My expectation is to take 2 days in each direction to cover the roughly 1400 miles each...
As I have the centre console off at the moment, I was considering regreasing the pivot points which is mentioned in the Service manual. This lubrication has probably not been done for 10 years. Currently the shifter moves fairly smoothly with the exception of getting the car into reverse...
I removed the inner door panel to access the speaker enclosure. The inner door handle is supposed to be attached by 4 gold and 4 black screws. The black screws fasten the metal parts and the gold fasten the plastic parts. However I found that 2 of the black screws were missing.
I am having...
My 1st oem reservoir lasted 15 years (80,000 miles) but the current one has only been on for less than 7 years and an additional 28,000 miles. Have most continued to replace with OEM or is the aluminum coolant reservoir option a better bet?
It looks like the difficulty in starting my 1991 NSX is related to the contacts in the starter solenoid. Given the labor cost to repair, I was wondering if replacing the entire starter motor is the better option. It appears that the oem starter motor which is pricey has been discontinued but you...
Current situation:
If car is idle for 24 hours, at least the first attempt to start the car fails. Often when you turn the key, there is virtually no response as if the battery is totally dead. However the 2nd attempt is likely to result in a bit of engine cranking and usually by the 4th attempt...
If not driven for just a couple of days, my 1991 NSX seems to have a significantly depleted battery. It often requires up to 6 attempts before it starts. So far, with perserverence it has always started even though at times on the initial attempt there is actually very little "juice" getting...
After 21 years of ownership, I am planning on changing the dirty clutch fluid myself in the near future. Although it seems rather straight forward, I have a few queries. (Although driven aggressively at times, I have no plans to track the car.)
1. Is removing the rear driver's side tire to gain...
Time to test the waters again to determine if anyone has owned an NSX for a longer period than yours truly. It has been over 21 years since I took delivery of my original 1991 NSX on February 28th, 1991.
I would certainly entertain purchasing the "new" NSX if Honda can get it to the...
I have been running Michelin PE2 92W on the stock wheels for my 91 NSX. The rears are almost toast while the fronts have approx 60% tread left.
As the PE2 rear tire has not been manufactured for awhile and is unavailable in the stock size, Michelin will be prepared to make an adjustment in my...
