I will second the above. I had to remove my Viper alarm system. It drove me crazy. I rebuilt my starter twice, replaced and or refurbished the ignition switch too many times to count only to find the problem was with the Viper. Once removed, not a single hiccup in starting the car. Jerry

Mine was the opposite. Once the heat was on, it would not turn off. It turned out to be the control motor. I manually turned the valve to off as I am in Florida and don't use the heat. I did order a motor and got it from Japan after a six month wait. I have yet to install it. Good luck. Jerry

While you are waiting for your ignition switch to arrive, consider removing your current switch and cleaning the contacts. I had the same problem you had and tried everything. I ended up removing my Viper alarm and all is well for a few years. Jerry

Sounds like you listed, but did not address the ignition switch. You can remove and carefully open it and clean the contacts. If they are burnt, the entire switch can be replaced for about $60. I had the same problem and chased it for some time. It turned out to be my aftermarket Viper alarm...
