Performance Friction NSX Brake System - JGTC NSX Brakes for your car

I think it's officially $3,995 per axle set, but sold as a front & rear package only. It's the same price as the famed Brembo "Indy" system while being 1" larger rotors, and a far more advanced (JGTC/Champcar/ALMS) design. Billy

Performance Friction NSX Brake System - JGTC NSX Brakes for your car

I recently attained some CAD files of the Performance Friction brake system for the NSX. Here's for all of you who will geek-out like me to this kind of stuff. Enjoy: The revolutionary and superior PFC "V2" rotor-hat interface used on everything from this NSX kit to the JGTC NSX, ALMS...

How good is the NSX? really.

+1 on Viper being faster than C6 ZO6. The Vette is probably easier to drive under the limit but its fairly comparable if not slightly more twitchy riding the limit as the Viper. The Viper won LeMans in both factory and privateer efforts (even when the factory no longer backed an effort)...

    Which Supercharger?

Depends on which video you watched. If you watch all of them in chronilogical order you can see the car becomes easier to drive and well sorted out. The first videos of its existence the car was all over the place - part of developing a car with a wider stance, etc...

    Which Supercharger?

Kip is making 550-650whp (I think) while FXMD is at 700whp+ on a 3.2L motor. Both handle and power out of corners very well due to good turbo sizing, testing, and perfecting as well as good car setups (and drivers).

Billy Johnson & Jack Roush Jr. WIN - Homestead/Miami CTSCC

Thanks everyone for the compliments!!! Be sure to catch the race on SPEED Channel, Saturday March 13th at 1pm EST! It was a very exciting and entertaining race to say the least. SoCalDude - we will see, hopefully in a Grand-Am Rolex GT or DP ride in the near future. Billy

    Which Supercharger?

That's a long conversation, but yes, Indy Cars, Champ Cars, F1, Trans Am, etc... all had turbos and it was very popular (but hard to police and manage) in the 80's. When you make more power, you consume more fuel. But yes turbos take wasted exhaust gasses to make power while supercharger have...

    Tire Pressure ?

I set my NSX at 36psi all around on the street. If i'm driving to Vegas or 5+hrs to northern california and want 1-2mpg better, I might bump it up to 40psi all around and while the car will react slightly quicker due to the higher pressures, it will have less grip. For the track, a good rule...

    Which Supercharger?

Yes, some of the videos out there are quite bad, especially cars with GT42s and GT45s. But I would hardly say that about well-engineered cars like Kip/Driving Ambition's or FXMD's who'se turbo setups are designed for road racing and whose cars are set up properly and driven well. Billy

Alignment after Coilovers etc have questions.

Seems like they added your front toe-out back and went even further as well as dialed in even more rear toe-in -to further 'deaden' the response/scrub the tires even more in a straight line for stability and added tire wear. Billy

    Need Tire advice!

Dunlop Starspec is one of the best street tires out there in competition and is at a VERY affordable price. Hard to beat it's performance/value.

    Tire Pressure ?

I respectfully disagree and do not wish to debate or argue my point further than to simply state that for anything with a 215/255 or 215/265 or 215/275 or 235/265 etc... I recommend and run 36psi cold on all four corners. I do not like the stock Honda recommendation of 33/40psi Cold for...

Alignment after Coilovers etc have questions.

I doubt they corner-balanced the car since most alignment shops don't have scales. I would suggest getting the car corner-balanced BEFORE aligning the car. If you don't have a credible place nearby to do it, and or don't want to spend the $, jack the car up and measure the distance from the...

How good is the NSX? really.

Post #35: HPDE events are generally much safer than W2W racing events. If you want to W2W race, you pretty much have to cage your car. If you're interested in DE events, you're car (even SC) is capable of speeds similar to other non caged cars - Porsche Turbo, GT3, GT2, Viper, Z06, F430...

    2nd to 3rd "crunch".....

If you're going through the trouble to open the box, just suck it up and replace the synchros. Better yet, have them WPC treated (www.wpctreatment.com) before installing. But synchros are 1/2 of the equation (but wear more than the corresponding teeth on the gears that the synchro engages). I...

How good is the NSX? really.

There aren't too many classes for the NSX to be competitive in without FI and taking a lot of work. If you want to race and have the budget, go for it if you really like the car that much. If you just want to race against many similar cars and always have a packed field, get a SM or a E36 M3...

How good is the NSX? really.

I do recall your NSX being faster in a straight line than your 335i ;) If you're referring to the overly long 2nd gear, I would agree the 335i would probably out-accelerate your NSX from a low-speed hairpin, but above 5,000rpm in any gear, your NSX's lighter weight (as we tested) is faster on...

How good is the NSX? really.

It depends on a lot of things. Are you referring to the car in it's 1991 specs with 205/225 wheels and tires? Are you referring to what you can fit under the stock fenders (235/275)? Are you referring to what you can fit under a widebody? The performance of hte 205/225 equipped cars is not...

    Window problem

I had this recently happen to me and it was the broken plastic clip. But in the process, my regulator also broke due to the slack from the loose lines. So don't keep trying to roll up and down your window. While you're in there, grease the tracks with the Honda Urea grease (or any grease i...

    Which Supercharger?

You are referring to the rapid increase in torque (ramp-up) in a short period of time. You can see this on Chris' dyno chart of the GT35 where the torque jumps 100ft-lbs in 1,000rpm (at 8.5psi). If you are above 4,000rpm, the torque band (in his example) is equally flat to the supercharger...
