Please note that it might be sufficient to use Google Maps or any GPS based speed measuring device to check the accuracy of the cluster. If it's less than +7 mph off it's still in an acceptable range. The need for re-calibration normally comes up if the calibration pots have been touched before...

Technical spoken, it should be drivable. Besides some very basic logic functionality. The cluster is mostly a passive device that displays information and provides very little functionality on its own.

Usually around a few hundred Euro but the chances of success are roughly 50/50 (due to age and damage from capacitor leakage) and considering the costs for shipping/tax to and from the USA it's often uneconomical from outside the EU, to be truely honest ..

These adapter PCBs were readily available from eBay - no PCB design work this time 😉

By the way, the orange display of the NSX is created (at least on the radio) by a filter on top of a bright blue/green display.

The CCU is certainly special but I'm wondering if the Honda Prelude clock might have the same VFD display as the NSX clock?

I'm not an expert on vacuum tubes (that's what VFDs are) but general assumption is like stated above, a temporary measure. For the radio there would be a way (not exactly simple) to overheat the filament but the clock or CCU hasn't been investigated in this regard.

Good to know that dimming works. It's a bit unusual to have them dim that much over lifetime but I'm not aware of a way to make them brighter again, besides replacing, since it's simply wear of the phosphor coating.

Hi Sergio, I'm a bit surprised about a radio that is missing these parts. The transformer has only two pins, so it's a coil, probably for transient suppression. For testing purpose you can replace it with a piece of wire. The Diodes are voltage stabilizer Zener diodes. ZD803 is 3,0 V ZD806...

Besides spares, it you might consider getting your amplifiers, CCU, radio and gauge cluster re-capped before they fail.

Haven't seen an ICU from the inside yet but if it's the same level of electronics as the rest of the car and there is no microcontroller involved it should be repairable without a magnifying glass.

Thanks @Oldguy, that was much more elaborated than my response ;) As far as I can tell, the central speaker is attached via a capacitor onto basically the same amplifier design and output coils, therefore I wouldn't be too concerned about the Bose amps getting damaged - but I might be wrong.
