tc-paradelap1.jpg (174404 bytes)Parade Lap during lunch with about 150 NSXs... Certainly the most NSXs ever on a race track at the same time in the US. Photo by Tom Croly.

Unfortunately there were a few incidents at the track today. Luckily nobody was hurt. To prevent any possible insurance problems I've edited all the pictures of crashed cars so the identifying marks are gone and the owners are not recognizable. I'm also omitting all names.

nsxpo99-may08-0019.jpg (51891 bytes)nsxpo99-may08-0020.jpg (59501 bytes)#1 - This car crunched it's nose. It doesn't look that bad from the outside, but..

...under the hood you can see the paint flaking off where the frame is bent. Bad news.

nsxpo99-may08-0021.jpg (46651 bytes)nsxpo99-may08-0023.jpg (31348 bytes)#2 - This car went sideways into a tire wall. Ouch.

Looks bad from either angle.

nsxpo99-may08-0024.jpg (58602 bytes)nsxpo99-may08-0025.jpg (57880 bytes)#3 - This car smashed the front pretty well.

I  don't think the nose mask was designed to handle this kind of stuff!

nsxpo99-may08-0026.jpg (50201 bytes)nsxpo99-may08-0027.jpg (58350 bytes)The car picture above (#3) again..As if the damage to the front wasn't enough, it spun and kissed the wall with the rear bumper too.

Another shot of the front. Clearly some serious damage. This car will almost certainly be totalled by insurance.

nsxpo99-may08-0028.jpg (57490 bytes)These burnout marks in the parking lot were there when we arrived, I swear!

nsxpo99-may08-0029.jpg (59562 bytes)Gala Dinner at the hotel. Mexican Buffet - Yum.

nsxpo99-may08-0030.jpg (59249 bytes)Satch Carlson, editor of BMWCCA's "Roundel" magazine, was the guest speaker. He's a pretty funny guy!

nsxpo99-may08-0035.jpg (61090 bytes)Lots of prizes were handed out! Greg Bischoff (CA) won this cool Zanardi model signed by Shigeru Uehara, Honda Executive Chief Engineer in Japan and the "Father of the NSX."

nsxpo99-may08-0039.jpg (55785 bytes)As usual, the racing game in the hotel game room is busy...

nsxpo99-may08-0041.jpg (54851 bytes)There are some funny comments on the message board if you can make them out in this picture.

nsxpo99-may08-0042.jpg (58956 bytes)John Trevor Wolff (CA) models the "Powered By Honda" tie he won during the after-dinner prize giveaway. Looking good, John!

Tomorrow: Track Day 2 and Autocross...
