P1010006.jpg (56569 bytes)Here's how you're supposed to come out of the corkscrew and through turn 9. Simple, huh?

P1010007.jpg (53544 bytes)The "Driving Dynamics Exercise" was going on all day. Part skidpad, part autocross. I think quite a few people learned a lot from this exercise.

The next several pictures were taken using the "rapid fire" feature on the digital camera. Pretty interesting..

P1010044.jpg (172993 bytes)Through turn 9. For some reason the camera decided to go with a slower shutter speed which blurred the background on this shot so it looks pretty cool.

P1010046.jpg (374450 bytes)Another shot of turn 9, but this time it used a much faster shutter speed and there's no motion blur.

P1010047.jpg (308595 bytes)Wayne Mello (CA) rocketing through the corkscrew

P1010049.jpg (335345 bytes)Kin Mitra (GA) is followed by Mike Bergman's fully race-prepped car through the corkscrew.

P1010023.jpg (52229 bytes)That's the end of the track event! It was unbelievably fun. It turns out that the corkscrew, which looked so intimidating, wasn't much of a problem. The tricky turns were elsewhere (9, 11, 2 for most people I talked to).

P1010050.jpg (343208 bytes)Most people left after the track event but a couple dozen stuck around - either because they had a late flight or (like myself) were planning to stay at the hotel Sunday night and leave Monday. So I made a dinner reservation at a restaurant down in the wharf area.

P1010051.jpg (55480 bytes)About 20 people went to dinner. The food was very good and the company was great. I'm heading to San Francisco in the morning, but this is the end of NSXPO.. by far the largest yet. It was great to see old friends again and meet many new ones. I hope you will join us in Atlanta for NSXPO 2000!

Tomorrow: Monterey to San Francisco...
