One last bit of NSXPO.. Doug Hayashi's car sitting in the hotel parking
lot as I left. |
| Sporty paint job on the truck, but I bet he's not using the Comptech pro
sport suspension package to lower it.
| This has "rock slide" written all over it.
| View from my friend's place in San Francisco
| Artsy early morning picture (If you haven't noticed, I like to call
pictures that don't turn out the way I intended "artsy")
| Parking at my friend's place in the city.
| The ever-touristy Fisherman's Wharf area.. this is Pier 39, the
touristyist of touristy places.
| And here's why.. Alcatraz. Approximately 30 million people visit
Alcatraz every day.
| Ok maybe not 30 million but these ferrys with several hundred people were
departing a couple times an hour.
| I settled for taking a picture of the island. It's actually supposed to
be pretty interesting but I didn't feel like fighting the crowds or spending my entire
afternoon getting tickets, waiting for the ferry, going on the tour, etc.
| Well actually I took two... this one is zoomed in.
| Everyone was standing around watching these seals at Pier 39 too.
| All they do is lay there and occasionally swim around between floating
docks. And smell bad.
| Wyland's "Whaling Wall" on the parking garage at Pier 39.
| Driving through the Presidio.
| One of the entrances to the Presidio
| There are some pretty scenic areas in the Presidio
| Unfortunately this was a very short road.
| Another steep hill. A few minutes after taking this picture I passed the
two Johns from Pennsylvania in the "Team XV" car. A bunch of folks went from
NSXPO to San Francisco... the entire Florida contingent (Wei Shen, TJ, Scott, Brian), the
Team XV guys, Mike from Fiber Tek and his girlfriend, myself, a couple Southwest folks,
and a few others.
| Ok, I wasn't going to go see Lombard Street but I figured I'll probably
never been there with an NSX again so why not drive down it?
| Driving down Lombard St. It's acutally a main street through most of the
city except for this one block that's really curvy.
| Lombard St. from the bottom looking up. There were about 30 people at
the bottom taking pictures on a weekday afternoon.
| This street was at about a 50 degree angle. I pointed my camera down and
it still looks steep. I literally couldn't see the road as I drove down it. You don't want
your brakes to fail in San Francisco.
