Inspection And History Reports
Since the NSX is a fairly uncommon car, people often consider purchasing one
that is located far away from where they live. It is common practice for these
folks to try and contact an NSX owner near the seller to have them give the car
a preliminary inspection and make sure the seller is being straight forward
about the condition of the vehicle.
I would also encourage people to send in comments about any NSX they sell
listing miles, modifications at the time of sale, any paint or body work
history, etc. This will help create a history for cars as it becomes more common
for the older models to change hands many times.

| 1997 Blue/Black NSX-T. This car was originally leased by Jay
L. in New York as a replacement for his red NSX which was stolen. The car
was his daily driver so it showed normal wear and tear (a few very minor
dings, scratches etc.).
In 1998 he struck a deer and damaged much of the front of the car (no
structural damage, but quite a bit of cosmetic damage). The deer
struck from the right front, hit the side, bent the fender, broke the
headlight cover and rolled over the front. The car was repaired locally
and there were later some issue with the clearcoat on the repaint bubbling
up which has since been re-done. The car came off least in the spring of
2000 at which point it was sold at auction.
In early 2000 I was looking for a '97+ Blue NSX-T and ran across one
listed on the Internet from a used sports car dealer. I called and he
promised it was in absolutely perfect condition and had no accidents. I
researched the VIN and discovered it was Jay's old car.
The car bounced around MANY dealers for the better part of a year. It
was finally purchased in the spring of 2001 by Chris A. in Washington who
modified it with a supercharger and loads of other aftermarket parts. |

| 1993 NSX being sold at House of Imports, stock #46082,
listed price $40,000
The Lowdown: Hood is not aligned properly. Driver's door is not aligned
properly and has holes drilled inside to try to get it right. Car does not
run right (feels like no Vtec) and engine sounds horrible. Crappy
aftermarket stereo system with ugly bezel mfg by the blind (also didn't
work properly). Big chips in paint on passenger side. Lots of ugly
stickers. Driver's seat torn @ left side and worn down severely.
Aftermarket gear shift knob is ugly and spins. Probably needs a new
clutch. Needs new rear tires. Half assed job installing Alpine 12 disc
changer in trunk (didn't look functional either as the cable was
disconnected) because they drilled it into the firewall and left the DIN
cable laying on the carpet. Engine looks as if it has never been cleaned
with oil spilled on it
The good: It looked nice from 15 feet away and the rims (Hart Racing)
looked nice even though one was scratched. 18's in front, 19's rear. I
wanted to see the Alpine NAV system but could not make it work (not
because I don't know how)
I wasted a couple of hours last night with my friend who could have
bought it for < $31k. I would not have touched it at any price. |

| I spoke to the owner about an hour ago. If my memory serves
me correctly, it was sold by Acura 101 West as I remember them advertising
it for awhile. It appears that the buyer didn't get a lot of use out of
it.
Current owner also owns a body repair shop. (Uh-oh!) He claims that the
car only had relatively minor left rear quarter panel damage and has been
repaired correctly. However, when I asked him if the car had a salvage
title, he admitted it did. (Ouch!). The car currently has only 592 miles
on it. While $65K looked good for a 500mi Zanardi, maybe it's too high for
this one (JMO). If anyone is seriously interested, I can take a look but
obviously you'd want a more thorough and qualified inspection before
considering it. |

| I was going to purchase this car in Atlanta last weekend but
when I got the inspection report back from the Acura Dealer I was told the
frame was bent. That was the best $80 I ever spent. They did not even tell
me it was wrecked until I asked them (I won't mention the dealer's name
but the VIN # of the car shows the car going through several auctions and
involved in a front end collision. They are asking $39k for a 95 NSX-T. |
