I am considering having Short Gears, R&P and a Lightweight Flywheel installed. Is the performance gain worth the money or am I better off just going with a Nitrous system for better performance.

Brad,
I, too, pondered this choice. I went with
N2O. It offers much more bang for the buck
than ANY other performance enhancement. It
is inconvenient to be refilling all the time,
but the novelty tends to wear off.

Nonetheless, I'm still pursuing the gears, too. Good luck!

I have the gears and the R&P, and I dont regret doing it(they are so much better than stock slacker), but I wouldnt do it again, becuz I would do the 6speed conversion instead. The cost for me was $1k gears, $1R&P, $1k install, $1k replace syncros. If I paid about $1k more I could have gotten a 6speed

granted, you can get the parts cheaper and may not need to replace the syncros, but I would still recommend the 6 speed, if you got the $$$

Brad,
It sounds like you are looking for horses, not gearing. The close ratio of the short gears or the 6 speed will do nothing for power gain, like the NOS, but the gears will keep engine in that VTECH sweet spot where we all long to be. Heck, get the gears AND the gas!
