ScienceofSpeed is proud to announce Jon York and Armand Puig as contenders
in the 2002 One Lap of America campaigning in our very favorite automobile,
a 1993 Grand Prix White NSX. Sponsored by ScienceofSpeed, Jon's NSX appears
to be a formidable and reliable platform for a serious competitive chance at
OLOA in the SSGT1 category.

You can find some information on Jon and Armand's entry here: http://www.scienceofspeed.com/news/OLOA_2002/

ScienceofSpeed will be providing daily updates of the team's journey as they
circumnavigate 5140 miles traveling to 11 events. Jon has asked for
assistance from the NSX community. Along the way, Jon's team may need
assistance from NSXers for help and advice in unknown cities. If you live
near the following locations, could you please e-mail
[email protected] and let us know your phone number. We'll compile
this information and have it on hand "just in case". Jon also hopes that if
you have some time free, that you will visit them on and cheer on our NSX
brothers! You can find a complete schedule at the address above.

Indianapolis Raceway Park (Indianapolis, IN)
Tulsa Speedway (Tulsa, OK)

-- Chris

Sweet!

So these rumors I heard about John having some sort of special JTGC 4.0+ liter race motor are untrue?

John tells us DallasNSX guys (remember what that was like?) that the big motor will go into the car after the One Lap event.

The original choice was to either go big motor or "little" motor with a supercharger. The plan was for a "little" motor with a blower. As things worked out, John went with the "little" motor, normally aspirated.

To win this race, you've got to have a stable vehicle. To do that, you've got to "freeze development" at some point and start testing with what you've got. Because of time constraints, the blower didn't make it on the car.

No matter... we're all behind Jon's effort, and wish him and Armand the best. I'm going to try to make it to TWS next Wednesday to root them on. I think some other guys from DFW may be going to Hallett this weekend to do the same thing.

Nice hood;-)

Nascar sponsors pay $50K for the right to paste a small decal on the fender, I think I can get you some sponsorship money if you don't mind painting the car pink:) Well you know what they say..."Pink makes you go fast!"

Seriously, looks great. I was beginning to think that all the seriously maxed out cars were bananas. Still conservative considering all the parts you have access to.

Is his car the old "Whitey" Chris used to own?

Carpe Diem! Get out there and DRIVE YOUR NSX! It won't do you any good when you're gone.

Some would say, the truth is the origin of a rumor

Just a Dali "Hot" Chip and the usual engine mods this year - more HP fun to be had next year though.
