I am in the process of upgrading my stock sound system and wondered if anyone with a upgraded system can tell me how the wires were run from the trunk to the cabin through the engine compartment. I will be installing two amp's and an electonic cross-over in the trunk and want to make sure I have a "clean" setup.

You could follow the cables for the CD changer cable. The easiest way is to remove both of the seats and all of the interior trim. This allows you to feed the wiring throughout the car and hide it under the carpet. I actually put both amps behind the seats. I'm only 5'9" so there is room. Only drawback is that you can see the amps unless you slide the seat all of the way back and tilted.

Right here.

There's been a lot of talk about whether or not to modify the sound system, and possible replacements for various components - for example:

Just not a lot about where the wiring goes.

Okay - I need to learn this. Everytime I ask where you are, you pop up within 5 minutes. How does that work, for real? Does something notify you as soon as someone types in "Forums Nazi" or are you contantly doing searches for the key words "Forums Nazi". I would like to understand so I could respond to anyone typing in "Michigan NSX" (my user name).

How do you do it?

Let me guess - this has already been covered in a different thread and I should use the "search" function

wiring goes under e brake area and behind the driver side seat back panel up were the seat belt area is and in the trunk.

Thanks for the info. I am most concerned about how to run the cables through the firewall, through the engine compartment, and into the trunk. I figured that following the line from the CD changer would probably be the best bet, but didn't know which side this passed through. Your saying it is on the driver side? Do you know if there is room for additional cables or does the "hole" need to be enlarged?
