On my 01 spa yellow, I took the top off and had it in the storage location for about a week. This is a new car and the top was perfect. Now I notice that the paint is noticably darker where the top contacts the rubber bumper right at the latch. There appears to have been a chemical reaction between the rubber bumper and the paint. I've tried a mild cleaner and abrasive, but its not on the surface. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm thinking of cutting a thin cotton patch to glue over the rubber so it does not directly contact the paint.
Do you think this is a warranty matter for Acura: If so.. should I get the top repainted, or ask for a new factory painted one?
Any ideas how to get the spot out?
Thanks
