What tire sizes are you running and does it affect TCS at all?

Would the following tire sizes affect TCS?:

Fronts: 225/35/18
Rears: 285/30/18

Thanks for the replies.

If you have a '94-01 NSX, then TCS will probably be okay. The outer diameter of the front is 2.5 percent larger than stock, and the rear is 0.1 percent larger than stock, so the front to rear ratio is changing by 2.4 percent.

If you have a '91-93 NSX, TCS will not work with those sizes. The outer diameter of the front is 4.9 percent larger than stock, and the rear is 0.5 percent smaller than stock. That means that your front to rear ratio is changing by 5.4 percent. You need to keep that ratio below 5 percent, and realistically no more than about 3.5 percent in order to take into consideration factors such as tire wear.

If you have a '91-93 NSX, find a front tire size whose outer diameter is closer to stock. This will be difficult with 18" front wheels, which is why most folks are not using anything larger than 17" in front.

Thanks for the replies.

I had problems with my TCS ('91) with these sizes.

I'm driving now 275/35/18 rear. And it's OK.

sorry, I mis-read the rear size...

I was running 285/35/18's and NOT 285/30/18's.

Allen, did you have problems with rubbing in the rear at all with the 285/35/18s?

no rubbing at all...I would assume that the offset of the wheels would play the biggest role with rubbing. I was using the Volk LE37T's that I currently have for sale in the classifieds section.

good luck.
