Hi guys,

this year the NSX community is represented by 4 NSXer (maybe more) at OTC.

1. Doug Hayashi with the flamemobile. Supercharged with fresh engine. Definitely the one I'm rooting for overall. Although it will be tough sinec the 2 radicals entered are virtually unbeatable.

2. Greg Hardee with the new partner. This year, it seem like Greg is running without a SC. What's his plan? Who knows... Maybe Greg can shed some light on why he decide to run without the SC.

3. Mark and Trevor Allan. Mark was Greg's last year partner. This year he formed a son and dad team. Definitely a team to look out at U2.

4. Tom Chiarella and Andrie Hartanto. New comer to OTC, but not a new comer to track event. Plan to come in with a big bang and make our pressence known. We've been practicing and testing this past few months. Definitely will be a force to reckon with.

Is there anyone else would like to join the fun and represent the NSX community?

We hope to get the support from the NSX community, and hope some of the NSXer will come, see and cheer for us when we come to the tracks near you.

Lud, would you like to send me NSXprime decal so we can sport it on our car?

EDIT: wrong title.. Oh well, can't change the title, must live with it.

Thats great news guys! You west coasters have some great venues and track opportunities.Tom is a good choice.I have run with him at the glen when he was an east coast guy,and he is quick! The bumblebee and I were no match for his stock motor 95,but I'm sure his CT pro susp, hoosers'and brembos helped,at least I keep telling myself that.Good luck!!!

Thanks for the support guys!

Any bay area people own Taitec wing? Can we borrow it for testing to see if it will work well with the car?

Science of Speed was interested in providing us with the wing for testing and proving that the wing works really well. But because of unforseen circumstances, he will not be able to get it to us in time. We need ot borrow it for testing on the weekend of 03/15 and 03/16.

Any company interested in sponsoring us are welcome!

We have been keeping quite on purpose.
Given the practice times we are running I'd say we can be competitive in T1 or T2.
We will complete aero and tire (gotta accomidate 245x40x17 and 295x35x18 under stock fenders) related mods this week and then look at the power side when Mark is back next week. If we can keep the power on the ground we'll beat the Viper (we were within 1 sec of him at TH running our low comp engine NA, remember I rebuilt as lc to be able to run higher boost so now we are down about 15). The Mosler is an unknown. T2 would be more of a sure thing for us even though we are down on power. In the end I'll make the choice based upon reliability and competitiveness.

Good Luck Andrie, Marc, Greg, and of course Doug. This will most certainly be an interesting year at OTC

Marc W. and I plan on comming out to WIR and BW when you guys come through there this year. Who knows maybe there will be a Weinberg/Kircher team next year

1) Cage side bar completed
2) AC removed and brake ducts installed
3) Front splitter fabricated (adjustable)
4) Racing radiator installed
5) Oil cooler plumbed
6) AccuSump installed (we're carrying more oil than a greek salad now)
7) Lower rear Gurney flap installed
8) Front fender wells customized with a 10 lb sledge hammer
9) racing battery installed
10) Interior reassembly this weekend

Andrie,
I'll take some pictures this weekend.
We went with a racing radiator with an internal core for the oil cooling thru Dali.
Greg

PS - you shouldn't have kicked butt so badly last weekend at Willow, somebody is busy adding go fast parts :)

Thanks Greg.

BTW, regarding MB&MJ oil cooler setup. It is wise to increase the fitting and line to size -12 or you will have too much pressure drop. This can result in catastrophy. I run the cooler at the rear fender and can get away with -10. There is no way -8 will be enough. JMHO, ICBW

Hey, even though we are competitors, we still fellow NSXers. I didn't think I kicked their butt so badly last weekend at Willow. It is good competition though. We certainly hope that we can win our class. But if we can't who else is better than the Allan's team.

Having said that, we got some tricks up our sleve. Our engine are stock, and we don't plan to add any more power. But we are not finish tuning our suspension yet.

Thanks for the line tip.
Mark had alerted us, we are all set up now.
Turns out this was not a design error, the hose guy delivered the wrong stuff for MA's set up.

Andrie, what'd you end up running at WIR last week? Marc W. and I will be there this Wednesday with OTR. Any of the OTC NSX contengent planning on showing also?

A little birdie told me that 1:31 was being run by a red NSX and 1:32 was being run by another red NSX :)

Hey Craig,

Greg is right. I ran 1:31.20 in WS. However, the suspension is screwed up, as the adjustment on one of the shock is stuck. So we had to settle the weekend with les than optimal setup.

I can see that we are breaking into 1:30s soon. It was only my second time ever at WS. the last time (first time) I was there was 8/2-8/3 of 2002.

Let us know what kind of times you run. We can't make it this time, as we need to do some final preparation on the car.

Both cars on stock engines;
AH on Yoko's and MA on Perilli 18" slicks.
We expect to be a second slower on street tires and that will really be something!

Greg, even a 1:32 - 1:33 in a N/A NSX on street tires is impressive. I'll see what Marc W. and I can manage on Wed.

What's with Pirelli slicks? is there a fitment for 17f/17r? or is my only option Hoosiers?

BTW, I'd like to hook up with you guys at Button Willow sometime when your there to show me the fast way around the place.

Greg, if you can do 1:32 or 1:33 with stock engine and street tires I would be very amaze. If you do, please let me in on the secret

Craig,
you should have run with us in my event at BW last time. Hopefully we'll get a new date soon.

We'll be close and I'll tell you how once the event starts, in the mean time how do you like the sound of this bet?

If car 15 (NA) beats either of you guys straight up, best three laps, then you buy us dinner. If we don't then we buy you a drink that night.

I might be buying a bunch of drinks, but if we pull a flyier that steak is gonna taste sweet :) (no I don't think I'll order the sushi in Willows)

The bad news, I don't drink!

I'm always up for a friendly bet, though. How bout dinner for dinner?

You keep saying NA, but never stock engine. So, are you making monster 350HP car? Will you be the one driving or this profesional driver that you been bringing to track event?

If you are the one driving, I even spot you a second
wink.gif
I'll go straight up with the pro driver, though
smile.gif

I said car to car.

NA for me is a low compression (down about 15 rwhp) on street tires..........

And you are going to spot me a second,,,,, shame on you :)

Greg, all this talk, I sure hope you walk the walk.

In any case, I'm up for the bet, but no drinks as I don't drink. What are you trying to do, get me drunk for the event?
wink.gif

BTW, your 2:07 in thill is not even close to my time. By far!!

Glad to hear that as we were running rock hard bicycle tires ( a free gift) and before our full aero mods.

We will see indeed.

If you spot us 3 seconds a track we'll do dinner to dinner;

straight up it has to be drinks to dinner,,, you can have a coke :)

Regarding the drivers - PD was busy but I did invite him.
