was reading the June-02 "FRONTLINE" (an internal Acura dealer publication -- sent to their retail sales consultants)... an article on page 4 mentions the NSXCA (Club NSX -- Head to the Track and keep up with your clients)...

some excerpts follow...

Heading to the track this summer can build rapport with NSX owners, earning you referrals and leads from a partisan Acura crowd.

Passionate NSX buyers use their cars for more than commuting to the office. Many have an adventurous spirit and actively participate in driving events at racetracks across the country. These events are driver's schools or timed laps where owners experience their NSX at speed. Getting to know these folks not only helps you develop prospects but is a lot of fun.

The NSX Club of America organizes NSX enthusiast events....

One ardent member of the NSX Club of America is John Vasos, director of parts and service for Acura of Brookfield, Wisconsin. "Our clients become active salespeople for our dealership", says Vasos. He should know -- Vasos has participated in track events for the 16 years he has been with the dealership.

"We get to know not only our own clients, but we get service work from clients from Georgia, Kentucky and West Virginia, and they make it a point to buy additional products from us. They buy their second and third cars here." Vasos says/

Vasos suggests Sales Consultants become involved in NSX track events in several ways. "We had a schedule of events out to every guy that comes in asking abount NSX," he begins. "We suggest to them that they do a driver's school, and hang around other members who do this." Vasos continues, "We add a membership in the NSX club with each purchase of a car. It's amazing the return you get from involvement."

Way to go John!! I am fortunate to have him and his crew within reasonable distance, and use them for most performance tuning work, particularly involving aftermarket mechanical parts.
