I am a proud owner of a 93 TT Supra AND a 93 TT RX7 - AND i just acquired a 1991 NSX.

I KNOW the NSX has awesome handling and great acceleration...

1. how does it compare to other sports cars out there (like number wise and ratings) - against like a Vette, Supra etc.

I'm just curious to see if the NSX has been head to head with other Sports cars (STOCK for STOCK of course).

Like whats the 0-60 and 1/4 mile time for the stock NSX.

Just curious to see how they compare vs. others

Congrats!

You have an awesome selection of cool cars.

Since you own the other cars we should be the ones asking you how it compares to the other cars. =)

Well-
as many may know, the Supra at BPU (basic performance upgrade) pushes 460-470 HP
with abut $1500 in mods.
(Thanks Turbos).
Honestly, the Supra is an incredible car.
It pulls a full G on the skid (from reports) and when modded the Twin Turbos kick SO hard it's a blast to drive.
NEXT, the RX7- i am selling...
I am not pleased with it at all.
Reliablility is about a ZERO

Everyone knows they are crappily built.
However, the do scoot 0-60 good (after that it doesnt pull very hard).
I only have Exhaust and Intake on it.
NOW the NSX.
I love it.
It accelerates very very good for the engine it has, and everyone knows it handles and drives like a dream

I am VERY pleased with it, and i think it's one of the baddest cars for the money (if you get a 1991 or 1992- they are relatively inexpensive.)

The only thing i didn't know was if anyone has ever seen any tests between the Corvette and NSX or like Supra and NSX (stock for stock).

Again, RX7- no thanks- i don't recommend getting one. Although mine is in perfect shape, i hate "wincing" every time i punch it.

Supra, awesome all around car- especially when modded with exhaust and a boost controller. Reliable, quick, handles great.

NSX- damn i love it.
Fast, looks SOOO exotic and handles/drives awesome

IS that enough - from an owner of all 3

According to the car magazines, the stock '91-94 NSX Coupe typically goes 0-60 in 5.2 to 5.3 and the 1/4 mile in around 13.8. The '97+ NSX with the 3.2-liter engine typically does 0-60 around 4.7 to 4.8 and the 1/4 in around 13.3, although there is at least one test that got 4.5 and 12.9.

The stock 3rd gen RX-7 typically tests about the same as the '91-94 NSX. The stock MkIV Supra typically tests slightly slower than that. The regular C5 Corvette typically tests about the same as the '97+ NSX. The Z06 Corvette tests a whole lot faster.

Modded cars, of course, depend on the mods.

WOW!

those 91 NSX times are amazing - very very quick!

i am impressed.

i just didnt know the hard numbers and how they compare.

thanks

so is the NSX's stong point acceleration or
handling?

seems to do a great job at both!

Yes.

And it's got nice brakes, and its looks are the bomb, and it's reliable, and...

Getting back to your question, though, there are probably more cars that accelerate quicker - 911 Turbo, Viper, Z06, Ferrari, and a few marques with tiny sales figures - than there are that handle better.

NSXTACY

well put!

NSX looks SOO exotic.
Affordable, Reliable, Quick, Hanldes awesome.

Id rther spend 30K on an NSX than 90K on a TT Porsche.
NSX Only lacks the straight line power... and to me, it's not worth the extra 60 grand because they are just as rare and nice overall.

my opinion...
