I was just wondering if people with racing seats installed in their nsx's could post some pictures. I am intersted in the different color combos, like black sparcos in an ivory or tan interior or red seats in a black inetrior etc...... I will be looking to install some myself in my future nsx and thought this could be an intersting thread. I searched and could not find a uniform thread that addressed this issue. Also, in addition could you say what kind of rails you use. Thanks.

When you installed your seats did you find that you were sitting lower in the car? I'm 5'9" (a little bit taller with helmet) so its not a big deal but was wondering if a taller person fits any easier with or without a helmet for track racing? Also do your rails allow for adequate movement fore and aft? Thanks

nik3sgte: The hight is about the same as stock, maybe an inch lower if any. The rails do allow for movement, just like factory.

BostonNSX: I got a "good deal" on mine :) but I'm told they run around $2000 per seat from the factory. The seats are high quality with red suede on the sides and the same material that's on the NSX-R seats in the middle (at least it looks the same from pics I've seen of the NSX-R seats).

How good does the suede hold up to daily use? I once saw a lamorghini diablo with a complete blue suede interior and always wondered if it lasts very long. Looked awsome though. I think i recall seeing an nsx in superstreet magazine or another one who redid his interior in red suede. Either way i like your seats :)

I dont know why but only a small top section of your picture kenjiMR is showing up. If it's just me, my computer must be doing something wrong but otherwise i cant wait to see you pic.

Type-S Seats..

those are absolutely gorgeous:eek:. hope they didnt cost ya 6000+ :).
what did they cost if you dont mind me asking, and where did you get them? ACR?
anyone know what it would cost for an upholstry shop to replicate that on a recaro spg, or pole position seat? the oem price is just too much for me to stomach.

WOW!!! Now those are some good looking seats......(I'm also curious to know how much they were). They have the same shape as the Type-R seats, looks like they just change the material. Are they comfortable???

They are identical in shape to the Type-R, the shell is the same carbon/kevlar, the seating surface material is leather + suede. Power adjustable front to back, they fit me perfectly without problems, (can't quite fit on SPG's comfortably). Have driven in 3+ hour trips with no discomfort. Can't really beat OEM in regards to fitment to the car, it's a real shame that they don't make it an option for US cars :(..

Which harness bar (if thats the correct term) do you recommend that has the minimal cutting and drilling to the interior, least intrusive, but still safe and autocross legal? I looked at the dali site but it seems to bring up only one picture for all the different types and i couldn't find them on the SOS site. In addition, how do your stock seat belts work with the race seats? Thanks

Here is a picture of mine...its not the best pic but oh well...

Yup, that was the first and only set in North America that we imported a while back. OEM is OEM, there is no comparison. The Type-S Zero Seats are the most comfortable/best looking racing seats period. As for price, yes they are quite a bit more than $6000.

P.S. Ken, its great to see that you still have the car and the seats.
