I recently used Pete from TheDentGuys in Concord. Pete came to my house and did the wheels without even taking them off the car (he had to jack it up to be able to rotate them as he worked though). I am very happy with the job he did, and with the price which was much better than the quote I got from Discount Tire.

Pete has an amazing work ethic. He accidently got some paint on two of the disc brake calipers and one of the wheels wasn't absolutely perfect (so minor that I said I probably wouldn't notice it, but he said he did not want it left that way). So he came back on Saturday, driving all the way to my house again, to make everything perfect. When he left, the brakes looked better than they have ever looked in time I have owned it. He took the opportunity to scrub all four brakes (including two which didn't even have overspray on them in the first place) until the brass gleamed. The wheels and brakes now look fantastic.

I had a coupon which gave me a special price they may not do every time, but that price was amazing - $70/wheel. I highly recommend him. If you live in the north bay area of San Francisco, he would probably come to you too. Their number is 925/250-3948 and their email is [email protected].

Hey Chip,

What other services do they provide? It sounds like they perform dent repair as well. Is it the paintless type?

Also, what did you have them do on your wheels specifically? I have wheels with curb rashes as well from the previous owner. I want to get them done as well. Thanks.

Hi Noah,

Yes, they do paintless dent repair, although I do not have any experience with that line of their work or the people they have doing it.

I had curb rashes on my wheels, some on the rims and some on the spokes (which annoyingly protrude farther than the tires, making them very vulnerable).

Sounds like a good deal. I'll get them done if I'm keeping my wheels. Otherwise, I'll sell them as is and get some larger wheels.

Thanks....

also, if you do find the Blue/tan NSX model, please let me know. I'll do so likewise.

Chip, does he re-polish aluminum wheels also? Mine are looking a little tired.

Aren't the factory 97 NSX wheels aluminum? I think they are, and if so that is what he did for me.

Followup:

I just developed a problem with one of the wheels repaired. It's texture has become rough, as if the paint is bubbling off of something, just on that one wheel.

I will give Pete a call, and I bet he will come right out and fix it. However, I thought I should immediately post that update here, as it is surprising.

Pete just came down to my house yesterday and fixed the problem. He said brake heat must have caused it, and that he uses new techniques which make sure this can't happen anymore. He came and redid it at now charge. He also volunteered to clean the other wheels while there due to any hassle.

My recommendation of him strongly stands.
