Can anyone give me numbers on what they have paid to have:

OEM clutch parts & labor -- Installed ?

OEM Timing Belt & rebuilt water pump - installed ?

Just want to check.

Thanks

I had my timing belt and water pump installed about 2 months ago by Bernie at Davis Acura in Langhorne, PA. They charged $1150 plus tax. No rebuilt parts though.

Brand new Stock Clutch set with the Flywheel and Bearing is around $1074 form Niello with your NSXCA discount and the labor for the install is around $456.

NY prices are always higher but I paid $1556.10 for parts and $960 for labor for the OEM clutch (12 hours labor) last year. At least it was covered as a business expense.

Hey. If I already bought a new timing, alternator, & a/c belt, new water pump, thermostat, timing belt cover, dowel, etc. BASICALLY ALL THE PARTS I NEED, What would be a fair & good price for a quality install of all these parts within reason? What would be too much, going by what most knowledgable NSX people get charged?

My labor charge for all of those things listed was $504 and that's from a Acura Dealership.

For "a quality install"? A "quality install" would be one done by a tech with a lot of NSX experience. In most cases, that means doing it at the dealership - and many dealerships don't like to perform work using parts purchased elsewhere (particularly if they are OEM parts). That's why most folks get prices quoted including both parts and labor.

hdsr5,

I would recommend you get a quote from FactorX out there. Also I am not sure if your list is abbreviated, but there are a few more things: Coolant, Timing Belt tensioner, Valve Cover Gaskets + grommets, for starters. (these additonal items are just under $200 with decent pricing)

I only mention it, since if you go somewhere and get a "labor" price you may be surprised when they add a few more hundred in additional parts to do a "quality" install as you mention :).

Great idea. Factor X knows NSXs and they're in Vegas. You can get their contact info from their website.

Also, I think any time you're doing the timing belt is a great time to replace the cooling system hoses.

Whoops. Forget to add in that I already have the OEM tensioner, and I recently changed my valve cover gaskets & grommets, as well as my upper & lower radiator hoses...

Factor X

Thought I would add that VegasNSX and I went out to Factor X last week, I was very impressed. I am taking my car there tomorrow for the 60K and belt/water pump.

Will post a report when done.

BTW, the owner took me for a ride in a 600 HP civic (no kidding)
- scared the living crap outa me.....seriously.

Ok. Well let me know how much he charges you to swap out all your belts, water pump, tensioner, and whatever else you change, and let me know how the install goes. I will probably get mine done there too if everything is done right and the price is reasonable. Shawn
