Review - Science of Speed Centerforce Clutch/Flywheel

I had the Centerforce Clutch/Flywheel installed on my car a little over 2 weeks ago, now that I've driven it a lot I thought I would let people know how I like it.

It is a lot like the stock clutch (which is what I wanted) except it seems to engage a lot smoother. There is no rattling or chattering, and it grabs very well shifting at every speed. My car drives a hell of a lot better with this. I'd also like to thank Chris at S.O.S. and of course Mark Basch for getting the parts right away and completing the work quickly with no problems.
Its awesome to have both of these guys in Phoenix now (My wallet disagrees though :( )
If anyone has any questions about it feel free to ask them here, I would definitely recommend this clutch to people who are looking for a stock-like (and affordable) replacement that can hold more power.

how much did everything cost you excluding labor?

and can you please send me info where i can maybe order mine too.... thanks in advance..

I am also interested in this clutch. I know I will have to replace mine soon.

How much total cost is it without labor?

What all do you need?

You need the pilot and throw out bearing which is $128.00 from Dali found here
The centerforce clutch found here For a grand total of $1029.00
Or you could buy everything from Dali for $1276 and get $400 back for your core for a grand total of $876.

If you are going to do the clutch install yourself you will need a clutch alignment tool as well.

So SOS doesnt sell the complete kit for the same price as DALI? whats up with that?

I had some other work done at the same time I installed the clutch/flywheel, so its hard to tell the labor costs but for the clutch/flywheel:

Clutch/Flywheel for about $900 and the T/O and Pilot bearings for about $150.
No shipping because everything was here in Phoenix.

To clear this up, and compare apples-to-apples:

Dali's pricing:
http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/boy_racer/clutch_racing.cfm

Dali "StreetRacer" Clutch (aka Centerforce) - includes core: $1500.00
deduct refundable core: -$250.00
>>> total: $1250.00

ScienceofSpeed Centerforce Clutch: $895.00
>>> total: $895.00

This seams kinds of odd. So does your clutch come with a lightened flywheel for $895.00?

My Centerforce clutch came with the remanufactured factory flywheel.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong but you would need to buy the Centerforce clutch for $895.00 plus the $490.00 8.9lbs flywheel to be similiar to Dali's Street racer setup with the 7.8lbs flywheel. with your savings of $50 that put it at $1335 apples-to-apples.

I am too curious about the Centerforce w/ lightened flywheel. I called SOS and didn't get an answer. So I email and haven't heard anything yet. What the price for both the CF w/ lightened flywheel? I would think it would be cheaper then the $895 plus the $490 because for that price you should get the CF clutch, OEM flywheel, and lightened flywheel :p . So what's the price of the CF clutch and substitute the OEM flywheel for the lightened one?
Thanks :)

Happy Thursday --

A standard flywheel is included, however, a light flywheel is available with the clutch at a special discount.

The pricing on the Dali website is based on Centerforce's previous pricing levels, which are no longer available, as Dali no longer sells the clutch.

Z - please e-mail your telephone numebr to us, and I will call you to discuss your needs.

Cheers,
-- Chris
