Choice of NC dealer for PPI?

I had a PPI done at Leith. I thought they were reasonable but not exceptional. They didn't give me much detail, but they didn't find anything wrong and two years later I have nothing to complain about:)

I've had basic service done at Performance. They seemed competent, but I didn't have the feeling they deal with as many NSXs as Leith.

I am not real happy with Leith. They just went up on their parts prices, and before I was an NSX club member, they raped me on some stuff. I asked them if they could match or even come close to some prices from Niello, and the guy basically said hell no, with an attitude about him not believing the prices I quoted him. I also asked about a remove and replace on my tranny (snap ring went south a second time, prefer not to get into here, beware of used trannys, even from knowledgeable guys) and they wanted $1700, and then told me that unless I purchased a tranny from them, they wouldn't touch it. Also have mixed feelings about the one tech I used to diagnose an AC problem I had about a year ago. Took him all day to figure out what I had told him that morning to check, as I had a vague idea what the issue was.

I also asked them to do a POST purchase inspection on my 92 and they flat out would not.

No experience with Performance Acura, but do know a local tech who seems to be knowledgeable and could probably check everything you need. Email me. He is rebuilding my tranny right now, and labor quoted was great.

Best bet would be to get a local to check out most stuff beforehand, as there are several around who are fairly knowledgeable. I probably rank somewere in the lower middle of the list, but if I can help, let me know.

Good luck...

Tom
