Another climate control problem

Well just got my car back from the body shop... Eventually my Climate Control unit (CCU) isn't working properly. All the functions seems to work except for the "Mode" and "Defroster" button. i can turn everything on and control everything else, except those 2 buttons are unresponsive. Anyone experience this or know what the problem might be?

It's got to be either the face or the computer. Best thing to do would be find a good one (they come fixed together, like it is one piece, although Acura sells them separately for mucho bucks) and switch them out, to test. Got a buddy you could switch and test with? Unit can be pulled out in 15-30 minutes tops. I paid $400 for a replacement for my used unit through ERZ, as at that time I didn't really know anyone in my area.

Pg 22-50 of the manual shows the cooling fan control unit, which has a wire going to the climate control unit that, if it is open, I believe will keep things from working properly. I did just a very quick check, but this might be something else to go on. Other than that, I didn't see any evidence of a climate control computer back there. HTH

just an update on my issue.... well i got pretty pissed at the problem and just started banging on the buttons of the mode and defroster and eventually got it to work once again... pretty weird. i guess i just needed to show it who's boss

that coulda been just some crud buildup behind the actual switch, preventing contact. Happened to my wife's jeep. Equalizer slider buttons which glowed, didn't. I slid them back and forth a bunch of times and wala, the contacts cleaned themselves and no more problems. Might want to operate the buttons with fair frequency in the near future to make sure they stay clear. Glad to hear the problem is now gone.
