Fizzed my third Bose amp and was thinking of a after market 4 channel amp that I can fit under the dash. To pull this off I need the smallest size I can get away. Some of you have parked the amp in the trunk or behind the seat and I want to avoid running a harness to far so I am going to try the under the dash thing. There are a LOT of amp's to chose from and I need just enough power to drive the OE speakers. What amp per channel is the OE system and is there any down side to adding a new amp system to the OE. Thanks, Dan

Dan, its really not a great idea to drive the stock speakers with an aftermarket amp - the low impedance on the stock speakers is not compatible with most amplifiers designed for 4-8ohm speaker load. Besides, by the time you invest in a decent amp, adding good quality speakers would be much more rewarding.
If you are absolutely interested in just replacing the amps however try this alternative non-Bose amplifier, F & F into the original packaging - http://mnrelectronics.com/ampoprepbost.html
