Any regrets with H&R??

I have read numerous posts about H&R springs being way too low especially in comparison to Eibach and stock springs.

Do you have any regrets?? Do you wish that you went w/ Eibachs or remained stock?

I had used both Eibachs and H&R on my BMWs, and I personally liked the H&R more. So I am a bit surpise

Other than the fact that H&R drops more, is there a significant difference between H&R and Eibach in terms of technology???

I have the H&R and would go with the Eibachs if I had a choice, great look with the H&R but a bit low for convinience

I think the big challenge for some with the H&R is they are low enough to cause too much negative camber that the suspension cannot adjust out. So your tire wear is bad. I think the linear rate of them is good, if they only made then a little taller.

I have the Eibach Pro Kit and my rear camber is just in spec, so the tire wear is acceptable, but if the H&R's were a little taller I would probably like them better.

I went for the H&R with bilsteins and set them on the upper perch - it took a little time to get used to the 'lowness' but once I had accustomed to the new height I felt the urge to go even lower, so I dropped them down to the lower perch - another 3/4".
this was ultra low and ultra cool to look at, but the handling wasn't really any different to before, and I had to be even more careful where I drove, particularly as I also have the RM splitter which is another 3/4" lower than the stock one.
I am now going back up to the higher perch on the bilsteins, and although I will need to take care and avoid certain routes, I will be happy to stick with that setup.

hope this helps!

I like my H&R/Koni. H&R is linear and Eibach is progressive. I don't feel much difference in ride comfort unless I'm driving on rough surface. As Larry stated, rear camber is a bit of a problem... mine is maxed out at -2.6degrees and can't go any less. I haven't seen any agressive tire wear but then I don't drive my car too much.

Scraping does become part of your life tho :)

Thanks guys!!

I will think twice about this.

Btw, what is the difference between the linear and progressive structure?

Again, thanks for your time.

I'm not going to get too deep into the differences (because I can't!)... but here are the basics:

Linear: Consistent in performance. The rates are constant throughout the entire "travel" of the spring. Usually the ride is stiffer on these springs.

Progressive: Rates are softer during initial compression of the spring (perfect for soaking up those small imperfections on the road). More confortable because of that. When the spring compresses, the rates are higher, and gets more sporty.

If you want better, more consistent performance throughout a turn, get linear rate springs.

If you want a more comfortable ride, but want that lowered look, get progressive rate springs.

Please correct me if I am wrong!

I like linear springs better.

This is an example of a linear rate spring -

Don't replace your springs, you will deteriorate the ride, big time! If you want to have "better" handling replace the shocks, not the springs. People say the NSX looks better lowered when you install bigger wheels and tires, I disagree. Mine looks great with the stock suspension and 17/18 inch wheels and I don't have to deal with scraping and all the other associated ills that come with lowering your supension. Just my 2¢ of course and everyone is welcome to disagree.

You guys are amazing!

Thanks for your help!!

does that mean you are going to lower your car tiger?!!
maybe I should lower mine too with the 5 spokes
