Oil leak

I have noticed a small oil leak in my 91 AT NSX, all my gauges read fine and there is no noticable loss of oil, but after driving there is alot of smoke coming from the engine/exhaust area and there have been droplets of oil on my garage floor, anyone know what the problem might be thanks for your help.

Also to check

Another source of a small oil leak may be the oil pressure regulator orings. There is one on the engine side and another on the oil regulator side. The underside of my engine was covered with a light film of oil and the NSX tech traced the leak to both of them.

check cam plugs, valve cover gasket, vtec solenoid gasket, and oil pan..

Escoe,

I have the exact same issue with my 91 NSX. I was never able to track down the oil leak. When I stop, there is some light smoke coming from the engine compartment. It appears to be coming from right above the catalytic converter or clutch area behind the engine. My clutch is not slipping. If you manage to track it down could you please post the result.

On my 91 I have done the valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket and Spool valve gaskets all were weeping a little oil. I also have noticed a few drips of oil from the transmission, very minor. Also replaced the figure 8 O ring brtween the oil filter mount and the block. I still get a little smoke off the front exhaust manifold after a long drive, am not sure if it is left over oil from b4 replacing the valve cover gaskets or they are still weeping. If it continues I will replace the rubber backed washers that hold the valve covers down. They look kind of tired and may not be holding the covers down firmly.

Not sure how much to have the timing cover gaskets changed, I did them myself, I had the covers off when I did the timing belt and water pump. The other stuff I also did my self so I only paid for parts so the cost was small. List on the valve cover gaskets were about $24 each and about $3.50 each for the 6 donuts that go around the spark plug holes. When was the last time you had a valve adjustment? As long as you have the covers off to change the gaskets why not do a valve adjust. I have heard that the valve advustment at the dealer runs $300 and should include the gaskets.
