I am experiencing wind noise from my driver's side window. It is driving me crazy! Can someone please, please advise me of a reputable place that can make the necessary adjustments to it to cease this noise? I live in the SF/Oakland Bay area and I am willing to drive to get the top quality service done.

Reading the manual, it says that if the window is not properly installed correctly, one would experience this noise.

Please reply here or email me directly to [email protected]

Thanks.

Coupe or Targa

The targa will be inherently "louder" due to the aerodynamic inefficiency of the leading edge of the roof.....the "seam" across the roof from one side of the car to the other. Also, the black window tabs are in different locations along the A-pillar, which may be a contributing factor.

I used to have wind noise with my targa at 110. Acura adjusted it and it is quiet up to about 130-ish. Any faster than this and the noise is just a "design flaw". :( My coupe was quiet to at least 140.

The windows can be adjusted to apply more pressure inward at the top of the window. At one point I had a lot of wind noise in my NSX (Coupe) at high speeds, and after the dealer adjusted it, it's been quiet ever since.

Anyplace that does a lot of NSX service should know how to adjust this. The procedure is in the service manual. Are you close to Don's Hilltop?

Yes i'm close to Don's, but will this procedure be done by Don's techs or is this something that they will call a window specialist to come and do the adjusting? If it's the latter, then it seems any Acura dealership can handle this.

I am planning to drop off my car to Los Gatos Acura on a late afternoon sometimes this week or the next to get this fixed. The problem is arranging a ride back to the east bay from there. :(
Anyone work near there and commute back home towards the bay area by chance and willing to help a fellow NSXer out?

Experience with Don resolving non-mechanical issues?

Has anyone had experience with Don resolving non-mechanical issues such as this? I asked him once to look into some creaks for me, and he basically just ignored me; gave me the impression he is generally reluctant to take on jobs of this nature.

I had a window leak in my 1992 coupe and the window was slow and did not extend completely. Don lubed and adjusted the window and it worked like new since.
What do you mean by "creaks?" Often time, to make a diagnosis of minor noise here and there is almost impossible unless you are willing to pay someone hours to trace the noise by closely examine every nearby panels and attachment. Did you specifically ask Don to do that? Same goes for finding a small electrical short which might take a few hundred dollars just to make a diagnosis and that exactly why there are such service.
