I LOVE IT! What a great video:) I must get a camera mount for my car and forget having people tape from the pits. Execellent Work My Friend! I spun too, only once though. I'm ready to go right now after seeing that video!

The first vid was me overcorrecting and then having to save it. On tape, in front of big TV, I couldn't believe how sideways the car was. I was working on getting on the throttle a little sooner and thinking that I would get a little more traction on exit. But alas, it didn't work out like that. ;)

The second (after fade) was of a pro driver. He was really huffing it! He had a ex-Speed GT 911 there and it was doing 1:18's. For comparision, he was doing 1:29's in my NSX. It's kinda funny, I got more out of him driving my car than I did of him giving me instruction.

As I pointed out to Ponyboy on another board, I thought the "professional" driver was making WAY too many corrections, turning the wheel constantly and upsetting the balance of the car. I was not impressed.

Ken,

that what I thought a couple of years ago. Now that I got faster and more racing experience, I don't think that way anymore.

I rode with a few pro driver and I thought Johannes Van Overbeek drove smoothly for race car driver on that video. Club instructors are usually a lot smoother, but they are also a lot slower!

True you should learn to drive smoothly at first. However, once you get to his level of driving skill you should do whatever that turn faster lap time. Even if it means sawing the wheel.

Well, it's just not consistent with my experience, including riding with some of the "pros". And you never see that kind of sawing of the wheel when you watch the in-car cameras at professional races, either - which should tell you something, no?

I wish I can have the track all to myself sometimes, no-traffic looks super fun.

All that takes is a ton of $$$ and you can build your own private track! I dream of that all the time:D Got to do something with my money when I hit the lottery!

I thought the comment at the end was interesting, about how sometimes it felt like the car needed a little more front sway to keep the back planted, but other times it felt perfectly neutral or even a little understeery.

I'd be quite curious to know what the overall setup of the car was: all modifications, what kind of wheels / tires, spring rates, etc.

I noticed in the first tank-slapper how many times it wagged before it actually settled down, which made me think there might have been some damping issues involved, and that the car probably doesn't have non-compliance rear toe links and rear beam.

Sorry, just saw this question now while searching "toe links."

The car has the Koni/Eibach suspension, Dali Street/Track sways, Volk TE-37 17/18 wheels, Kumho Ecsta V700 R compounds. I believe the spring rates are in the Performance FAQ - they are progressive.:( Not supercharged but I do have the Comptech headers and the Taitec GT Lightweight exhaust.
