Questions:
1) I was wondering if before I purchase a particular NSX would any Acura dealer give me maintenance records for that vehicle if I gave them the VIN number, or is this private information that only the seller would have to provide to me?

2) Typically how long dose a pre-purchase inspection take?

3) If the Acura dealer replaced the window regulator retainers is this a permanent fix or is it the same part?

On August 6th I will be purchasing a (one owner/Stock) 1991 Red/Black NSX with 21,XXX miles. I looked the car over very closely and it is in excellent shape. The engine bay is spotless and in like new condition. The interior has Zero flaws, less the center speaker not working but no big concern there. One of the “NSX Prime” members ran a car fax for me awhile back and it came back clean. The anticipation is killing me…can’t wait to join the club! Your advice and suggestions are appreciated.

“NSX2B” Not for Long!!!
:D

1.) Yes, they should be able to provide dealer services performed if you provide a VIN.

2.) 1 hour (at least that's what they'll charge you :) )

3.) Don't know - you'll have to wait for a 91-92 owner to respond.

Dealers may be willing to give you maintenance records; however, only the ones that they have access to. If a car was serviced at a particular dealership, that dealership should be able to retrieve the service tickets for all service performed there at that particular dealership. However, other dealers will not have access to this information. The only services that all dealers share access to, are services that are the result of recalls or other bulletins in which all owners were notified and advised to bring their cars in.

Dealers around here typically take two hours.

I assume you are referring to the box-shaped clip in the window regulator. As long as the window fix-it thingies were installed, or a new-style regulator was installed, the fix is permanent. The old-style regulators are no longer being used. You can read more about this in the FAQ, under Troubleshooting - Power Windows.

Thanks for the info fellas. I will give the dealership that did most of the service on the car a call and see what was accomplished or not... NSXTASY- yes, I was refering to the box-shaped clip (Window Thingie). I just wasn't sure if dealers replaced them with updated Clips or "thingies" as we have come to know them. Thanks again!

Thanks

Thanks 92NSX! I have religiously lived the dream of owning an NSX and knowing that it is only 11 days way is very exciting! :D
