does anyone know where to get clear sidemarkers or clear parking lights for the NSX???

want to get rid of the orange!!!

I'm surprised they even make them for the NSX. I didn't realize NSX guys were doing this mod. This isn't a civic.

CIVIC???

Have you seen the latest BMW's, Lexi, Benzo's and everything else new these days???....Orange is so 80's, but if you like that look, don't cut your mullet.......:D

I know, but they come that way. Changing them seems so ricey, like something out of Superstreet magazine. Keep in mind that all the exotics (Ferrari, Lotus, Lambroghini and of course NSX) still come with amber. I think everyone started changing them to clear to be different. If they all start coming clear, then probably people will start changing them to amber again. The grass is always greener on the other side.

I think depending on what color car you have, the clear can look nice. However, the only way I think it looks decent is if you can rid amber from the entire car (front & rear). On my 2003, the front & rear turn signals are both amber, so changing the corner lights to clear would just be silly.

This is happening already! "All Amber" corner lights are available for most cars. Yuck!

I second Erics opinion,

Clears are as rice as stickers

if something subtle as tiny clear sidemarkers is "rice", then I hate to think of what you guys think about people with body kits:eek:

all you can eat rice buffet???:D

Get over it.....Like I said, if you like that ugly orange sidemarker which sticks out like a sore thumb, keep it......

Gimme a friggin break....It's a TINY sidemarker that is clear!!!!
LOL:D

Like I said, If you guys are getting your panties in a wod over tiny little sidemarkers, I'd hate to think what you guys do when you see a body kit or an H badge:eek:

ANYWAYS...

Going back to the original question for this thread, 91 X, you're close enough to Orange County. Wait until Super Autobacs open in Stanton on Beach Blvd. at the end of Aug. If you missed out on the tour last time NSX'ers of O.C. met, it's basically the Home Depot of JDM parts. I'm sure if they don't have it, they can order it for you and it will be specific to the NSX.

Keep you eyes peeled in the Southwest forum for the Grand Opening.

Well, again the whole point of a bodykit is to be different.

I have an '03 NSX and there are fewer than 400 cars with the same body style in the entire country. If I get a bodykit to be different, then who exactly am I trying to be different from?

I can understand a bodykit on a Civic, or a Supra, or a 300Z (they sold more 300Z's in the first 6 months than Acura has sold NSX's in 13 years). But a bodykit on an NSX seems like a waste.

Isn't one of the major reasons we all bought an NSX is to have a car that is rare and exclusive so we didn't have to bother with this kind of crap?

I think some people just want to change for the sake of changing. When you look at your car for long enough, you get tired of it after a while no matter how nice it looks. And then after a while, you want to change it. But is different better or just different? Most likely you will get tired of the bodykit too after a while. Remember that most people rarely see an NSX, and it will look wonderful and rare to most people whether or not you have a bodykit.

But for those who have money burning a whole in their pockets, feel free to buy one.

Joel- cool, cuz clearcorners.com wants $125 a pair:eek:
Holy cripes!!! For a couple side makers???

I got some for my wifes '99 528i for $29.99 on autodynamic.com

Eric- I agree with you about body kits, the NSX dosen't need one, it is beautiful by itself..But if someone likes the look, I have no problem with it, to each his own....I just want to get rid of those loud orange sidemakers, if that is riced out, oh well.......

BTW, to me the NSX could never look riced out....Its an NSX!!!!

If you put a TypeR sticker on I hear it adds at least 10 hp. The larger th better.

Paste 3 or 4 Si stickers and you could be looking at 350 rwhp.

Funny you should say this, but also refer to "ugly orange sidemarker which sticks out like a sore thumb"... :p

The other funny thing about this whole discussion is that the sidemarker is such a minor detail, no one will ever notice the difference - whether it's orange or clear. Even if you point it out how you changed it to your car nut friends, they will think you're just being silly - not because they think orange or clear looks better or worse, but because they think it's such an insignificant thing that it's not worth talking about, let alone changing.

Powered by Honda is correct, I am the owner of ClearCorners.Com. We specialize in hand-fabricating high-intensity LED and true-HID light kits for various Japanese sports cars. We were the first to offer clear side-markers for the NSX, then came out with our single and dual function LED side-markers for the NSX. Now we offer a full line of products for the NSX, from LED sidemarkers to LED signals and high-intensity LED tail lights.

...and if you like that ass-ugly clear sidemarker which makes your NSX look like a 17-year-old's riced-out Civic, then keep it.

Guys, please try to be a bit more open minded and not so harsch on other peoples tastes. The word `rice` is quite degrading for one, and I know many people who arent appreciative of that type of talk.

When it comes to modifying cars, we all have our own unique taste and style. If you want to keep your car 100% stock, you are more than welcome to doing that. If you think a small 2x3" side-marker will make your high-dollar NSX look like a lowly Civic, then that is your opinion. Personally, I think these two NSXes look amazing:

Besides, our clear/LED sidemarkers do a much better job matching with true-HID headlamps. AND, the dual function side-markers which illuminate white and blink amber with the signals, are completely revolutionary -- no other car on the road uses such technology.

So, all in all it just depends on what you want to do. Same goes for the tail lights, find me ONE NSX that has a light as beautiful, powerful, and as efficient as this one:

Please don't take my comments out of context and then start arguing against them without that context. If you re-read my post, you will see that this comment was intended to mimic an earlier, almost-identical post with the opposite point of view. My point (which you can understand when reading the quote in context) was not to criticize clear sidemarkers (as you can see from my subsequent posting, noting that no one will notice); it was only to show how silly the comment about an ugly orange sidemarker would sound, when juxtaposed with almost the same comment about a clear sidemarker. And it was complete with the requisite smiley face to show that humor was intended - and you removed this, too. Shame on you.

Sounds like a certain vendor is getting a wee bit too defensive, concentrating too much on trying to sell product instead of recognizing the obvious humorous intent...

Exactly. Nothing wrong with that at all. ;) I for one agree with you. I like to change things just to be different. Not really from everyone else, just the majority of people with the same car as me. If the NSX came with a clear lens I probably would be trying to get the amber:D

Serisouly though. I've changed them both ways. Just to be different. Just like how the North Americans want the JDM look and the Japanese guys all want the North American look. I;ve had other cars where people set up parts exchange purchases with owners in each country. It's just the car guy in some of us where we have to personalize everything and anything we can.

I agree with the poster who said it depends on the color of the car though. I think the clear would look good on a white or silver NSX. Maybe even the yellow. Since I have white, I think I might try it one day:cool: Really though, it is no bid deal. The owner can always put the original parts back on his car. I keep all OEM parts or buy a duplicate OEM part if I am going to make a permanent modifications. That way the car can be returned to original if/when you sell it. ;)

" I didn't realize NSX guys were doing this mod. This isn't a civic. " Clear side markers/whatever? Give me a break! OK, if you are under 30 I understand. Children are allowed to do childish things. This cosmetic mod thing has always seemed "High Rev Tuner-ish" to me. The NSX as in "New Sportscar eXperimental" is the most developed automobile you will find to drive as a road going machine , bar none. But hey, if it makes YOU happy - Just Do It. You don't have to answer to me! :)

Last I checked, the new 911 threw some quite impressive specs on the road and is also quite developed. What do you know, it has clear side-markers! :) I guess Porsche needs to stop hiring 30 year old designers! hehe

putting on clear side marker makes your car look rice?? well....rice or not.......it does look nicer to me, but the price is a little too steep....$125 for front, $125 for rear = $250 ...too much for little light :)

Just a note.........apparently the Honda designers thought amber was the way to go, because the 2002-2003 style has quite a bit more amber than the previous NSX's. My car has not only the corner lights, but both the front and rear turn signals. Changing the corner lights would do nothing to rid the car of amber. You would have to replace both front headlight casings and the entire rear light fixture.

But I do see how on certain darker colors on the older NSX's, it does give a different look as it rids the car completely of amber. Whether or not that looks better is just opinion. But $125 sure does seem steep for such a minor change.
