Hi as some of you might already know, I will get my NSX today.

The car had the CompTech Headers and exhaust, only that I don't quite appreciate the exhaust sound. I saw that the muffler was a PowerFlow muffler and I think it would probably be the cause of the terrible sound. (IMO) Did I mention the fat lip exhaust tip... yes they are original CompTech, but I think it's as ugly as it gets.

Do you guys think it would be a good idea of Swapping the Muffler (just the power flow thing) and have someone weld two Canister style muffler independantly then put a slant cut tip on it?? (Kind of like those on the Taiteh GT )

What would you recommend on those canister styles? I'm low on budget too, I mean, I would have spent more money on suspension and tires.

Thanks.

You could cobble together almost anything (and many have, search for threads about the budget FlowMaster) but you always risk losing a bit of performance along the way. Good exhausts are tuned for the engine, although I often doubt how much real tuning is done for most of the aftermarket NSX systems.

I agree with NoClgDeg. You could easily sell the Comptech exhaust on this forum in the Parts For Sale section.

As far as welding in new tips and mufflers...this is no big deal. However, you don't need to butcher the Comptech. Sell it, and have one custom made. Should cost you about $200-$500 installed for the custom exhaust depending on what you use for tips and mufflers.
