Hey everyone,
I'm going to start working on a little project and I'm in need of some 3m protectant film. I don't need the pre-cut stuff. I saw that they sell this stuff by the roll on the 3M website, but no price. Just wondering if anyone know where I can get this stuff and a good price? Website would be a big help!
ps - I searched on google.com and got tired of checking all the websites. :p
Thanks
Z

There are two kinds of film that most dealers carry. One is the pricey one that is absolutely clear, is about 6-8 mil thick and will never yellow.

Then there is the economy version that is a bit thicker and is known to yellow with time. This one is used more for darker colored cars.

Be sure of which one you get, as once it yellows, it cannot be made clear by cleaning. The yellowing in within the actual plastic itself, not just on the surface.

Thanks for the information. I'm glad to know there's some cheap stuff out there. I'm going to be removing my front fender liners since my cars too low and rubs them. I plan on removing them completely and placing 2 layers of paint protectant on the underside of the front fenders and see how that works.

Thanks HondaFly, I'll check them out and see if they got what I need.

Good luck without the fender liner.I removed mine for similar tire rub issues and we sprayed the black undercoating goop in its place. After a few noticible reverse dings I had enough and changed tire size,as well as springs to raise ride height.

Hmm, so you dont think this would work? 2 layers? :(

Well give it a shot and let us know.Btw a paintless dent guy who has worked on my car before made it all right anyway, those guys are priceless.
