Which NSX Year?

Well, I have accomplished my first task in my search for my NSX. Found a group of experts who are friendly and willing to share their ideas. I am new to the forum and looking forward to being a part of your community.

I would like to start by asking a simple question:

Do you have a preference in NSX model years? Obviously, there have been minimal changes to the body style over the years however there have been changes to engine, interior, chassis features, etc. For example (if I am not mistaken):

1995 - NSX-T arrives, new throttle system, SportShift on automatic transmission, etc.

1997 - bigger engine (290 hp vs 270 hp), new 6 speed manual, structural reinforcement.

What are your favorite model years and why. Are there any to stay away from? What do you recommend?

97+ coupe. Most of the bugs were fixed and you have more power with better gear ratio. Also the coupe is stiffer and lighter compare to the T. It is a subjective question and anwser.

There are no model years to stay away from.

If you want the most rigidity and lightest weight, get a '91-94 NSX Coupe. These are also the least expensive NSXs.

If you want the ability to take the roof off, and you're willing to pay an extra ~$8K to do so over the cost of a '91-94, get a '95-96 NSX-T.

If you want the ability to take the roof off and the extra performance of the larger engine and six-speed, and you're willing to pay an extra ~$8K to do so over the cost of a '95-96, get a '97-03 NSX-T.

If you want the most rigidity and the highest performance (also lightest weight), and you're willing to pay about the same as a '97-03 NSX-T, then look for a '99 Zanardi edition or one of the handful of '97-01 NSX Coupes sold.

Your choice, depending on your preferences and your budget. All of these are good options though.
