What HP gains should I expect with the installation of a Taitec header/Anytime exhaust ?, as this is the setup I am leaning towards. For those who have done a header/exhaust upgrade, is there a considerable "seat of the pants" performance increase ?

I can't answer your question directly but maybe Chris at SoS could provide you a reference or an answer.

That said most people report 20-35 HP increase and a noticable seat of the pants improvement - especially over the pre 97 cars.

good luck - post back here if you ever answer your own question for future searchers.

Peak horsepower gains appear to span between about 15-25 hp when both headers and exhaust are used. I haven't heard of results exceeding 25 hp. While we don't have dyno results of the Anytime exhaust and TAITEC GT headers together, we do have dyno's of the same components in other setups. Both the Anytime exhaust and TAITEC GT headers would be a good choice for performance. Based on this previous experience, I would expect at least a peak horsepower gain of 20 RWHP and 10 RWTQ with good mid to high-end gain, which is definitely perceivable. You can read up on our findings on a similar test here...

The Comptech header/exhaust mod was the biggest bang-for-the-buck mod that I have done on my car. My initial seat-of-the-pants suspicions were confirmed with dyno pulls regularly in the 270-272 rwhp range.

Best money spent!

I put on the taitec parrallel and the taitec headers on my 92 about 4 months ago. It is by far the best sounding exhaust I have heard on the nsx. You can definately feel more power. The sound of downshifting and blipping the throttle to match the revs is so much fun. I used to drive my 92 about once every week but I now drive it at least 5-6 days a week, it makes the car so much more fun to drive....if that can be possible. Sorry to ramble on but if you have not done it, you need to!

What do the Taitec headers and exhaust cost?It all sounds pretty tempting.

You are talking about 1100+ for exhaust and 1400 for headers (all with shipping), then you have to pay to install them.

So almost 3K for 25 HP..

You could install them yourself if you are some what mechanically inclined and have access to a lift or jack stands. Took me 10 hours taking my time. Instructions can be found doing a search on this forum.

The exhaust is an easy install. From what I understand, the headers are best left up to a pro unless you are a pretty good under the hood.

My friend who does all his own work took one look at how to do the headers and said "You get someone else to do these."

So, sure you might be able to do it yourself, but I would imagine the majority of people here would not be able to.

Nonetheless, you are still talking about 2500 or $100 per HP.

Thanks for all the great info. S.O.S is currently out of stock on the headers I want, so I will have to wait a bit. :)
