Just got feature in one of those Import Magazines ( I read them at 7-11 and got their name all messed up. so I apologize for not mentioning the mag. name.)

I remember he's one of the member here, and he owns a shop at Vancouver, B.C. right??

Does anybody knows who he is and where his store located??

If I remember right, his replica used all Real NSX-R parts. If that's the case, I'm wondering how much he spent on his transformation...

The magazine's name is "Import Tuner." Excellent read--I thought it was a real NSX-R. The conversion is so good it had me fooled. Must have spent a grip to make it look like that.

Because it isn't available in North America.

sometimes i think that's a good thing for who can afford an NSX but can't afford the extra mile for the NSX-R.

but why is it not available in US?

but why is it not available in US?

1. Horsepower sells cars, People normally won't appreciate not to mention paying 20 to 30k more for the "maybe" 10-20 horse increase. ( Try explaining to a Drag racing kid or Vette owner how much better the TypeR engine is than the normal nsx engine. They would prob. just ask you, So, how much whp is exactly? then they will walk away.)

2. Japanese Manufacturer tends to keep the top flag ship cars ONLY in Japan for their pride. Example: President, GTR VspecII, Evo Tommi edition, impreza 22B just to name a few.

3. For selling 100 some Type S each year, it will probably less than 10 people would fork out extra money for the R. Honda couldn't justify the hassle of getting the nsxR for certification/ Dot, all that legal matter... ( ie, no air bags, weaker bumper reinforcement...etc.)

That said, from the profit that Honda will make over NSX R, no matter how much the markup is going to be, will not do any good to them in numbers.

but for promotional purpose, I still think they should get a NSX-R back here. If Honda was keeping the NSX here just because for its image, I can't see why they not bringing the R here for the magazines jounalists, or the gifted (rich??) Just to prove that, AFTER 13 years, Honda still kick asses... with the only 280 hp motor.

Hello Everyone .
My name is Samson Chan
My shop is located at ( 5531 minoru Blvd , Richmond )
( 604 ) 279-5563
www.srautogroup.com

Totally I spend around $45000 Canadian Dollars to modifly it .
This is my third NSX , I love it so much . I guess I will keep it this time :)

Modifly parts : ARC exhaust , ARC tower bar , ARC Intake Box , Spoon caliper , 03 conversion , DC Header , Recaro seat , Tein RE , Prodrive 17/18 , Maya 18/19 ..........etc .

Those don't look like the real CF recaros either... :)
Is the white the Championship White?
The '02 NSX-R has wheels like the '02 NSX

Did you also do the engine and suspension mods?

If you guys must nit-pick everything, from what can be seen from the pic, that hood isn't an NSX-R hood either. The real NSX-R hood only has one scoop. Also the side mirrors should be carbon fiber as well.

NA1-T
Your car looks great! It was a nice write up on your car.
Nice job on frabricating your own hood was it hard to do?
I like the concept car look better than the production look.
Did you paint the tail lights to get them that dark?
Are your head lights the NSX-R lights that you can paint or the 2002+?
What is the difference in the stock antena vs the JDM Honda Access antena for the NSX-R?
Thanks Brian

What's NSX-R about this car? It has new taillights (not even Type-R headlights cause they aren't white inside)and a new bumper, aftrmarket sideskirts and rear skirt (not Type-R, they look like wings west), A carbon fiber hood that's not even the same looking as the type-r, white wheels that aren't close to how the type-r looks, and no NSX-R spoiler. The car looks good, but to call it a Type-R conversion is pushing it.

NSX-R do have antenna although no radio. I bought a magazine (can't remember the name) but in the pictures it has antenna also on the rear left.

The magazine article stated it was an "NSX-R replica".

Samson never claimed it as an NSX-R replica or else he wouldn't pick a '91. This topic itself is misleading.

Here is a few quotes
[SR Auto Group decided to recreate the image and perfornace of the NSX-R]

[We will probably never see the NSX-R in North Amercia but
SR Auto Group gives a glimpse of what it might be]

[SR Auto Group decided to leave there hood unpainted, matching the style of the original NSX-R concept car]

Yeah its not a perfect recreation but he did it his way and it looks great.

The guy gets an A for the effort in my book! :)

:D Thanks for straightening out for me, for awhile I was embarassed that I "mis-Judge" Samson haha.

Anyway, Samson, I went to your shop yesterday but found out that you guys took the day off, how disappointing... Then I went to play the initial D TV game at the arcade and got owned by so many kids... well, I think I'm getting too old. :(
