I'm gonna be really quick....and yes I tried the search first.

Anyone know the optimal tire pressure? (I know it may be an opinion)

Thanks,
John

I run almost the same setup (same tire diff rear size, I have 255s'). For street pressures I have been running 29 front and 32 rear with great success as far as handling and wear are concerned. I would use that as a rough starting point and play with them up and down a few psi to see what you like best.

Ok... i was gonna post a question about this too.

The stock tire recommendation is 32/40 (psi) right? and USUALLY when you have a thinner tire, its good to run 2-3 psi higher than recommended correct? On my last set of tires i was running 34/42 and the tires wore down the middle pretty fast.

Im running the same sized tires as mentioned in the first post.

As of now, im runnin 32/35 psi and it seems to be workin out a lot better for me.

Is the stock tire pressure recommendation no good?

Even though I only have the 15/16 stock set up, I'm pretty sure the factory recomended tire pressure is the one which gives the optimum performance, No comprimise... When Honda make/design NSX, it's really different than they produce Civic and accords... So, I'll say, in your case 34/42 is too much pressure, so I'll say Honda did their homework and the factory recommended pressue is indeed the best towards Performance.

Now with the 32/35 you are driving, you probably just have a little bit more comfort at street driving, yet probably in the low speed (well all legal speeds are slow...), you have better traction too.

My second thought on this whole subject was that, there really isn't any optimal pressure... (there's safe or dangerous ) It really comes down to who driving it. The same person who swear one setting is the best, the other could just drive it straight to the wall and swear it's the worst thing he's been in.
I would do a lot of experiments + a lot of driving to find my own set up.

OK......I just want to quote myself, because somewhere along the line this (short) thread took a wrong turn :)

I use so3's in those sizes John and I like 36f 38rfwiw.But I suggest playing with pressures and see what feels nice.On the street cold pressures are good places to start. On track were more heat and pressure is generated I like to target optimum Hot pressure.

No, it's 33F/40R.

No.

More wear in the middle of the tire is usually a sign of overinflation, and your tires were overinflated relative to Honda's recommended pressures.

Sure it's good. I have found that my tires wear evenly (the same in the middle as along the edges, aside from slightly greater wear on the inside edge only, in front) using the recommended pressures.
