Which clutch?

I have a 2000 3.2L 6 speed with a Comptech supercharger and I need a new clutch. The question is whether I go stock or aftermarket. The dealership that I've been working with said that they've installed a couple of RM clutches that have been trouble, so I'm going to stay away from that one (however, others may believe this is a great clutch). I put my car through a lot of stop and go traffic, and apparently, I slip the clutch frequently. I'm ashamed to say it, but this is my first car with a manual transmission and I'm really going to work on changing the way I drive. I've read about clutches in the faqs section, but I want to get some opinions from those people with superchargers. I appreciate any advice.

Based on that chart, it looks like Comptech or factory (I have a 2000) - the other clutches are for 91-96. Of course, I'm sure there are other brands. I'll have to do some research.

Hi Gina,

Well, you are limited since you have a 3.2. The RM is not compatible, it is a dual plate. Your car has a mass flywheel and a single plate clutch. You will need to go stock, CompTech PGI or PGII. There may be another version as of late, but I do not think so.

The PGII will require more pedal effort, and I REALLY recommend you drive one to be sure it will suit your needs. If you commute with the car, as an example, the PGII may not be your best choice.

The PGI may require less pedal effort then the PGII (I have not personally experienced the PGI) and be a better choice, depending on your usage. If you track the car and/or run a 1/4 mile it may be too weak with the SC.

You are looking at about a $3000-4000 repair cost, so be certain you get what you want:).

I am looking at this one. I can not find anyone who Knows about it but SPEC claims they sell the 97+ all the time and get great responses. Thay have 5 versions depending on your application. They are built from scratch not a rebuild and they are priced right. If you call them ask for David, he has been answering all my questions.

Just got done visiting their site and I find it interesting that the 91-96 clutches are a lot more expensive then the 97+ clutches. Isn't it the opposite case with the OEM clutches!

Yes, it is. The OEM '91-96 is less than the OEM '97+.
