hey guys,

Just joined this forum today. I'm not new to the car scene and have modded my share of cars...haha

I always loved the NSX and now in the market for a used (must be yellow) NSX-T. I wanted to know what are some things I should look for and any particular model years that are trouble?

Don't mind if the car is slightly modified if done cleanly. What are some good body kits and popular exhausts, etc?

I can't believe I just missed out on that NSXPO meet but if you guys are doing anything in the future, I would love to come and meet some people :)

please contact me at [email protected]

thanks
rick

btw, how do I add my sig picture?

S4play, I recognize you from the e46fanatics site.

A really good start is the nsx faq on prime, it has many of the answers you're looking for. The yellow Nsx's first appeared in 1997 with a 3.2l engine and 6 speed transmission (290 hp).

A lot of the performance modifications can be found at www.scienceofspeed.com, they are well respected here for service/product selection.

Feel free to post if you need anything else.

peace

Hey, I also noticed you from the e46fanatic forum (I was a big BMW guy before I finally purchased my NSX).

Yes, you want to start with the FAQ section to get more information on NSX. You will soon realize that the folks at NSXprime or NSXCA are one of the nicest car enthusiasts out there.

You may want to post all of your questions to the New & Prospective Owners / Car History / Comparisons section.

NSXprime doesn't allow you to put the pics in your sig (and you will soon appreciate that).

Thanks guys!

for the warm welcome and tips...I really appreciate it and need the advice :)

Wow, lotsa of cross readers here then with both cars huh!

Can't wait to get my own NSX-T and looking hard at the classfieds and E-bay...haha

S4PLAY, I remember you and your black M3 from e46fanatics. I too have switched over. I recently sold my heavily modded 330ci and bought a used NSX. Although I miss my bimmer, there's nothing like the raw sports car feel of the NSX.

So far, I have:
18" HRE 445Rs
Tubi Exhaust (nice sound!)
Comptech Carbon Fiber air intake box
Wings West body kit
JIC coilovers

I have no regrets ..although if I had your M3, I don't know if I would be able to sell it.

Welcome to Prime! There is a yellow '01 NSX-T with 1500miles at one of the Acura dealers in Scottsdale, AZ. I checked it out while on vacation last week, it is a 6-speed, is super-clean but his asking price is high (IMHO) at $74 k. I suspect he could be talked down $10 k pretty easily. Car is 100% stock. Good luck!

BMW convert

Years ago, I was at Laguna Seca. Before my session, a BMW M3 owner close by asked about my car. Said he saw only pictures of the car but never rode in one. My session was next and he asked if he could ride with me. No problem. I entered the racetrack running the motor to redline and he was blown away by the sound of the motor. He then complemented how well seated you are in the car. We took a few laps around the track and then he asked me if I had any mods on the car. I told him it was bone stock. He couldn't believe how well this car handled in stock form! Said his BMW didn't feel as well planted on the track as my NSX. We finished the session and he was in total awe. He praised the handling of the car like I've never heard before.

In closing he said, "You are so lucky to learn how to drive this track in a car like the NSX." He went away telling me that he'll seriously consider the NSX as a replacement for his BMW. I was very happy to make a new convert. :)

Gday mate! Welcome aboard ! I remember you from the DTM days.. I too went from an M3 to an NSX the M3 is getting neglected..

only think I'm missing out on is Power steering.. but you won't have a worry with that if your looking for a late model T.

Good luck with the NSX!
Oh yeah the NSX crowd is light years different to the BMW crowd.

wow, losta bmw converts here I guess :)

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I luv my M3 and although I plan on keeping the car for a while, I wanted something more sporty and exotic so can't wait to get my own....

hope to see some of you soon at the Nov. 1st club lunch.

Well, let me jump in too!!! :D

Welcome, I was also a M3 Man! But mine were E36's! I miss the car, but the NSX is a different car. :) Obviously... ;)

I too have loved BMW M Cars. I've had an M Roadster and now I have an M coupe that I'm selling now that I have just bought a spa yellow car myself.

The M3 or any M car for that matter doesn't have the pressence or pure feel. Everything feels artificial after the NSX. My M coupe after suspension mods and the Viper GTS felt the most racecar-like. The viper being more of a NASCAR and the NSX an F1.
