I am SOLD!

This thing is absolutely awesome!
I've cut car-drying time literally in half.

Kragen is having a clearance sale on these Nikota Car and Shop Blowers for $19.99. Get one and see for yourself. They're going pretty fast though so hurry. I had to go to different Kragen shops to find out if they have any more in stock.

It's portable and easily hand-held. I even get water out of the places that I usually have a hard time getting to like side mirrors, that tiny space between the roof and the rear glass hatch, the crease between the tail lights and bumper, etc. You know what I'm talking about.

Just blow it and forget it!

I pick one up at Kragen auto parts yesterday at $19.99 after real Joel's post, works great, no more towel dry from now on.

Tony,

You can try Sears, Ace Hardware store or other car supply store, they should have it or at least something similar.

I bought one

I was able to pick one of these up for $19.99. The sale had actually ended the day before and the price went up $5 but because they had not removed the sale price from the shelf where the item was stocked, they agreed to give it to me for the lower price.

It does work well, though not nearly as well as my gas powered leaf blower which I have traditionally used. This is a good inexpensive, relatively quiet and portable alternative.

Hey guys, I purchased a leaf blower yestedrday and used it for drying...it didn't work as well as I had hoped. It left tiny sparkles of water all over which in turn left water spots and I ended up having to use quick detailer. Does anyone have this problem or is it that my leaf blower is not powerful enough...??(rated at 110mph only).

It was nifty getting water out of the lower front bumper...

i think this thing has a filter so it does not blow as much dust on the car?

i think we will have to buy them and mod them. :) Either make it run off of the cig lighter or somehow mod a battery pack from my cordless drill to fit it as well?

i need something cordless... as i live in an apartment building with an underground garage area... i have a safe place to park... but no where to plug anything in. I called and they sdo not make a cordless car dyer. I will call back for details on the regular blower and see if there is a difference...

I talked to Elsa. If u call.

Life sucks as a condo owner! I want my own garage and electrical outlet so I can clean and vacuum. Plus a hose would be nice.

Washing and drying my car is an excellent way to relax for me, having a leaf blower attatched to my arm while doing so defeats the whole purpose. .02

Let me know if you are ever in DC area and want to relax! I got something for u to do! :D

Well... it started that way for me too. Then I saw that despite my every effort to buy the "best and most delicate" car care product on the market... and the hours of reading about properly detailing exotics and modifying the detail boy (me) I still get swirl marks on my car. So it stress the hell out of me now as the car was perfect and had 0 swirl marks on it on 2000 and now it has way way way too many. I use the super soft abosorbance cloth thingy that carcareonline sells and the real australian wool mitt thingy and the p21s soap and I rinse the x for 12 minutes or so before I even begin to wash and I clean the wool mitt every few seconds and I dunk it lots... and I use polish and then wax and I use swirl mark remover evry so often... and my freaking neighbor has less swirl marks on his 98 Ford Taurus than me. So I ask him what he uses and how he does it... he uses cheap stuff from wal-mark and a sponge withe the hard scratchy surface.

ARRARARARHARARHARHGAHRGAHRG!!!!!

Now I ahte cleaning my car!!!! If I could get it done and done well.... Then I would nto mind. The fact tha I work so damn hard and it just doesn't work out.... thatswhat really gets me. So now I am starting to see it as a track queen who never sees the track. I try not to stress.

Don't get me started.

I got one too after reading Joel's post. I also got a portable steam zapper ($49.99) at Fry's Electronics. It shoots hot pressurized jets of steam into hard to reach areas. It is a great tool for steam cleaning the engine and front hood section without harsh chemicals the pressure blows harder than the portable air blower. Both of these tools are great for detailing the NSX among other things.

Ak where are you are from? I am looking at some cars currently and would love to get together with some of the local guys :)

I still details cars on the side, mostly becuase I love to see a clean exotic and partly its good buisness in this area ;)

there are bunch of owners around DC metro area. Check the mid-atlantic forum. I'm thinking about storing my car soon tho

Just picked one up! Not bad for the price. Just gotta be careful when running the extension cord through the puddles near the car. Kinda scary, thought I was going to get electrocuted! I Need to get a cordless version before I kill myself!
