i noticed that my panels have a slight rattle. i was wondering if anybody else has rattling from their side panels? not loud rattling but enough so that you can hear? i know its my side panels because if i apply pressure the rattles go away. also my top creaks and at high speeds the top feels like its just gonna rip off (lotta wind noise). was just wondering if this is all normal or should i have it checked out?
thanx a lot guys

Is the vehicle a Targa model. If it is, then sometime the top will rattle because of the winds. I am not sure about the side panels though.

I do. It isn't always there though. I only hear it on occasion, and even then it's not enough where it is anoying to me. In mine it sounds like it's coming from the B pillar area. I have no clue as to what the cause is. Oh, mine is a coupe.

I have a 97-T and luckily there are no rattles at all. Hunting down rattles is a pain... my brother used to have an annoying rattle in his 71 duster that we could never figure out... he said "it was punishment from god":D

My rattle is just behind my left ear. Pretty sure it is in the safety belt holder. I talked to someone else on our group drive a few weeks ago that has the same issue. Not constant, but annoying.

Check out the troubleshooting section of the faq titled What's That Noise?

I just used that to fix a common rattle problem in the trunk that sounds like it's comind from just over your shoulder.

If it is coming from the door, here is something to try. Get a phillips screwdriver and pull back the rubber moulding around the door where the interior panel meets the alum. door. There are about 7 screws around the perimeter that I found some to be loose on mine. Tightens each one, but do not really torque them down, just snug them up. There are lots of other places on the car like around the glovebox and center console that may also be a little loose. My '92 with 103k miles has no creaks or rattles any more.

Rattles in the NSX are not normal.

I'm not doubting any of these reports. All I'm saying is that most well-maintained NSXs do not have any significant rattles.

Squeaks from the roof of the NSX-T are another story. They are common (and preventable).
