My one concern is that the dealer bought this NSX used from Honda corporate, and it MAY have had a hard 9,000 miles. Though it is Certified, somehow that doesn't give me much satisfaction. If someone very picky from the NSX community could see if the car drives and looks "fairly new," then I am in the market for it. A few nose blemishes don't bother me, but any small mechanical problem means that I'm NOT the buyer for this car.

I do have a Red/Black and a Yellow/Black waiting in the wings. Both are new, and therefore much more $$.

Many thanks. Feel free to send me private email at anilATxlipstreamDOTcom

Thanks for this offer. I'm looking for two things: is the body straight and true (paintwork, blemishes, wheel scrapes, interior condition, abused or broken things, etc.); and does the car drive like new (clutch action, 2-3 gear engagement, interior rattles, brakes/abs, etc.). You can speak with both Lorenzo Omar (General Sales Manager), and the Service Manager (sorry, don't have his/her name), to get the "whole story" of this Honda corporate car. Recall that my MAIN interest is to find out if it was abused while in Honda's fleet.

Basically, would YOU buy it? Feel free to email at anilATxlipstreamDOTcom or give me a phone number and I'd be happy to call you. Many thanks!

Good luck with this dealership. I asked a local friend of mine to check out the car about a month ago (when they first advertised it) and they were absolute assholes. They didn't really want to sell the car then or they were hiding something... even though the advertised it. We never saw the car - but just decided that these guys were too cheesey to deal with. YMMV.

Both my wife's and my experiences with this dealership on separate occasions were similar to kpond's. The bottom line:
she bought a G35 instead and I walked after being told they'd give me a 15K trade in on my 93...

If you do go in for a look, you may want to see Diane, though:eek:

I could also check it out for you. I work in San Ramon about 15 minutes away. I could probably stop by Monday or Wednesday. Let me know if you want me to check it out also.

Thanks folks, the car was recently checked out by another knowledgeable NSXprime member. Many of you private emailed me with grave concerns about this dealer, and specifically about the GSM. With comments ranging from, crappy service...to much worse. And, others reminded me of my exact fears regarding the hard life if an '02 press car with 9,300 miles. These are my fears exactly.

Our fellow NSXprime member checked this car out very well. He stated that he did not see any issues with bodywork, just some very slight and acceptable nose rock chips. He knows what to check for as he did auto bodywork through college, as did I. No observable color blending anywhere, original factory marks under the suspension, etc. He did state that the interior was unkempt, two non-trivial scratches in the drivers side blue leather seat, bolster somewhat worn, mats filthy, etc. Needed a complete detail, possibly more. A hard life for this interior. Though driving it was quite fine, he said — he loved the "tight" shift action as compared to his '91 NSX.

They are advertising it for approximately $69,999, but may go to $67,000. Unless they "give it away," I intend to pass. Life's too short to hate me new NSX.

This is a bit peripheral to the question at hand (and it's a six year old story), but as long as we're on the subject of Acura of Concord...

I bought a new Integra GS-R from them in 1997. They had a newspaper ad at the time that said they gave price quotes over the phone. When I called, the guy asked me my name, then immediately told me it sounded like a phony name invented by another dealer calling to check on his pricing. So much for being treated with dignity by a dealer for a luxury car line.

When I picked up the car, the salesman told me the dealership put all new cars through a many-point inspection before they were sold. I checked the tire pressure, and tires were 1 PSI over the max indicated on the sidewall (which is already quite a bit above Acura's recommended pressure). I think they just drove it off the truck and sold it.
