Guys....I am trying this thing on for the first time. Anyone else using it now? If you are using, how do you feel about it? I've seen somewhere that Hankook beats Toyo and a couple others. Comment please!!! :D

Calvin, why is it that I'm always here right after you post to answer your questions??? :D :D
Now, about the Hankook tires. I run them on my NSX also and I'm very very pleased. Ofcoures, I don't track my car. But for cruising around, they are great. They are also very good in the rain and the thread wear is good also. ;)
Good bang for your buck IMHO.

What size tires are you using on the 18" & 19"s? Do the lug nuts light all together or in a pattern? :D See you tomorrow.

Oh, this reminds me, today we went to the Austin meet. They have some great turns in and out of the mountains/hills there. The tires handled great! I was taking turns behind a Vette and I could see him breaking loose on some of the turns. The NSX felt soild and I didn't feel or hear my tires breaking loose not once! I felt like I could have been taking those turns a bit faster if that Vette wasn't in my way!!! :D :p j/k

Also, don't quote me on this, but I think I read somewhere that brand spanking new tires need to be broken in a bit before they perform at their peak b/c they are slippery at first? I think? Kinda like motorcycles tires. You have to put a few miles on them before you can really start leaning into turns.
So, just fyi, since I know you just put them on. ;)

NOw you tell me about the perfomance issue. Okay, I'll break it in on the way to the drive :D .....now reallly wish me luck!!! hahaaah....thanks friend.

BTW, I was behind Z yesterday in Austin, and I felt like I was coming a bit loose in several turns...I ended up going way wide, and was lucky there wasn't a car coming a few times. Paul was behind me with video - I probably look like I was all over the place. In addition to my having no skills, my tires are brand new, and I think they need to be broken in a bit.

NOw that I am back, here is the report on the Hankook!! It handles grrrrrreattttt!!! Thru the twisted road up in the mountain, the tires/car performed perfffectly!!!!! I like em :D

The Hankooks sound pretty good........the prices are great!!

Did you get the "HR11 H405 Series" ?? In 17/18"? Fill us in with a little more info.

DAVE

He has 215/35/18's and 275/30/19's. And I'm pretty sure he has the Hankook Venus Sport K104's as do I. :)

Also, for some good prices, try www.online-tires.com

Talking about "Hankook tires" as good or bad is like doing the same for "Bridgestone tires" or "Yokohama tires" - it's virtually meaningless unless you specify which model you're talking about. Each tire manufacturer makes a wide variety of different tires for different purposes, from sticky tires for track use to long-life tires for family sedans to winter tires etc etc.

I believe the test you are referring to was the test of track tires in the August issue of Grassroots Motorsports, mentioned here. If you are looking at track tires - tires that typically are very sticky on the track, wear out extremely fast, and are terrible in the rain, they might very well be worth considering. If you are looking for good street tires, those results may or may not be applicable to their other types of tires.

The test in Grassroots Motorsports was done on the Hankook R compound tire. I'm not sure which Hankook tire was tested in that issue.
