Arghh. Some idiot decided to steal the volk aluminum valve stems from my car while it was parked at a restaurant for lunch today. Very annoying, but I guess there's no way to protect those. I guess I'm just going to get some regular rubber ones to replace them with. One size fits all right?

Its horrible that everything you have has to be guarded today....a little thing like a valve stem.

valve stem covers

I had a '91 Audi 90 Quattro with metal valve stem covers and someone stole 2 (both driver's side) over a weekend while parked outside my house. Unbelievable what people do these days.

I put some Acura emblem stem caps on my MDX which I leave parked in my driveway and someone stole the caps on day. Then, about a week later I see some bicycles laying in the yard of my neighbor and noticed shiney stem caps on a bicycle. I walked over, took a look and saw my caps. I went home, got a pair of pliers, and stole back what was mine, lol. :D Stupid kids.

Good for you, Doc! Be sure to keep your cars in the garage, those little punks are probably going to turn into professional car thieves in the future.

Some thieves stole $8 pressure-indicating valve caps while I was at work--and we have security guards patrolling the parking lot! Brazen punks!

Someone took ONE of my Work stem covers.

On a set of Blitz wheels, someone else took all four "BRW" stem covers. After that set was taken, I asked my wheel dealer if he could get a replacement set. He made a few calls and found it difficult just to get the caps. Seems you have to buy the whole valve stem assembly.

If anyone else know of ways just to get caps for Japanese racing wheels (i.e. Volk, Ray's, Blitz, Work, etc.), I'd love to hear.

done twice

had the chrome stem covers stolen from my vette, and from the NSX. We have a guard patrolled parking area at my office, they've taken them from my associate's Porsche TT, BMW, and my car, at least the theives have good taste!!!!!

Hey Doc,

That's the good thing about those RSII's. No Valve stems!

The only part to steel is the metal screw.

I have a hard time myself looking for the stem screw myself at times.

I had mine stolen also. I'm not bothering with locked ones. I just put the plain black plastic ones on. The NSX looks so nice that nobody is going to notice what kind of valve stems are on it! Did you notice what kind of valve stems were on the last Lambroghini you saw? :p

I had my valve stem caps stolen as well.

Griot's Garage has a set of chrome Acura-logo caps that need a special tool to be removed. Otherwise they just spin. Not cheap, but worth checking out.

I replaced my BBS caps after two were stolen with 88 cents Wal-Mart rubber caps. BTW the metallic caps get really hot and hard to remove for checking tire pressures between track sessions.

When I bought the SSR Integrals, I could not believe how beautiful the valve stem covers were. I knew they were going to be stolen. So I just went to Kragen to buy the $3 metal valve stem covers and stored the originals.

I got my nsx logo cap stolen while having dinner at O'Charley. My car were parked in front of the restaurant. Damn teenager.

Geez, after reading everyones post, I had to run out to the garage and check. I do still have mine, but mine are hidden on the inside of the wheels by the brakes. ;)

Don't bother replacing those. They are useless. They have been tested and shown to be wildly innacurate.
