17"/17" wheel setup for 94?

Initially Honda had decided in their R&D that the rear wheels should be 1 inch bigger than the fronts. But with the newer cars, they no longer do this, instead opting for the 17/17 setup. Are there any negative implications in doing the same on a 94 for which the original setup is 16 in the front? Or would this work? What exactly was done to allow for the change to allow the 17/17?
Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that for you to install '02+ 17/17 NSX wheels on your '94, you would either need to use 5mm spacers up front or convert to a 97+ brake setup.

Thanks,
Ryan

I didn't read the FAQ, but I would suspect that the small narrow light fronts, give the quickest steering response. Going to a 17" front, as long as it is light and still a narrow width, will keep a very good steering feel. Go with a 215mm or wider front, it will feel tough and slow especially in the non-pwr-steering years. Stick with a 205mm or narrower for the best feel IMO.

Honda went with smaller wheels in the front because of the smaller outer diameter of the tires and the narrower tread width. The reason they did that was to prevent the intrusion of the wheel wells into the passenger compartment, so that the driver could sit with his legs straight ahead with plenty of legroom, instead of off to an angle.

I can only guess that they switched to a 17"/17" setup for marketing reasons.

But 17 and 18s fit without rubbing and problems right?

I'm no expert, nor I had driven my nsx on the track yet...

I remembered when the 02 Type S came out, Best Motoring had an episode featuring it, and those Professional drivers all like the new tires set up and I remembered Tsuchiya (Drift King) mentioned more than 2 times that "I'm glad Honda finally listening (to me that nsx needs bigger and wider tires.)"

I remembered they were always complaining the loss of grip after couple hot laps...

I went with the 17/17 setup just because I think there must be a reason Honda did such setup... I'm pretty satisfy for the performance on the street, which maybe it'll be too understeer to my liking on track, oh well...
