Are there any problems with having 17x8 wheels in the front with 215/40/17 tires? Will they rub? If so, I will just get 17x7 or 17.7.5.

Thanks.

I think 17x8 is a pretty common size with the 215/40/17 inch tire for those using the 17/17 or 17/18 combos. As long as your car isn't too low and you have the proper offset, you shouldn't have any problems. ;)

They shouldn't rub. However, looking at Bridgestone's specs for the S-03 tire (a typical high-performance tire), the approved rim widths are 7.0-8.0 inches. The only problem you might experience is that the tires appear a bit "stretched" on the rim, not that big a deal. If you have a choice, though, I would go for the 7.5 width.

Thanks. I'll be getting Yokohama AVS ES100. Any 'stretch' issues with this tire?

Also, I'm considering 18x9.0 rears. Can I go wider? If I do, any 'stretch' issues?

Thanks again. :)
