Ok finally sold my C5 and got a 92 NSX!!! ill miss the torque but thats all. and the 6spd i thinks thats it. to my question. First thing i want to do is tint the windows just wanted to know what % tint? the car is black with a black interior everyone is giving me different ideas and do you tint the partition or leave it? thanks guys look forward to your responses!:)

Do not tint the partition glass. With all the other windows tinted your car will be plenty dark enough for normal driving. Also, if you tint the partition glass and the rear hatch glass, you will be almost blind when looking out the back. My '91 NSX has just the door windows and rear hatch tinted and it looks great and I can still see. :D

That depends what side window you tint. If you tint the left side and the small window it won't look funny but if you tint the right side and the small window it will definitely look funny. :p

IMO I would tint the whole car with light smoke (50%) tint. For the front I would go all the way down to the bottom of the windshield (if that's allowed in your area), and no tint on the divider window.

Yeah, go 50%, maybe 35% on the hatch.

Do what you can with the front. Use 50% if you think you're allowed (or can get away with it), otherwise use something more transparent, like 70-80% and hope nobody notices. It really helps cut the heat, if that's important to you.

Thanks guys im going to get it done this weekend while im in florida, my sister got her winsheild tinted and it looks awesome! so thanks for al the advise! 50% on the sides 35% on the back i cant wait:)

Remember, since the NSX has a small passenger compartment that is very dark, the tint you put on will look a little darker. I have 30% all around and during the day it is fine, but at night I'm finding it moe difficult to see. That may be because I'm also getting old.

Oh yeah, congrats on the car!

If you put 50% all the way around (including all the way down the front windshield) then your car will look like it has 35%. I've done this on different cars so I know. I've also tinted cars with 35% all the way around (full front windshield) and it looked like the car has dark smoke tint (5%). Put 5% tint all the way around (full front) and no one will see in!

I would be against tinting the entire front windshield simply because it cuts down on night visibility. If I am running along at 90 mph at night I want to have the best visibility possible, and tint on the front windshield impairs that.

Not to mention it is illegal in the state of Florida so you may be hard pressed to find a shop that will do it for you down here. See Florida Statute Title 13 Chapter 316.2952 here. I have been all over the Florida statutes about window tint because of my wife being harassed about supposedly illegal window tint on our previous Civic Si. I have 35% on the X and I think it's perfect. Keeps plenty of heat out and is not hard to see out of at night. The roof line is so low that I don't even have a glare strip across the windshield. The black tint with the black roof on a red car looks great too in my opinion.

I have limo all the way around, keeps the car nice and cool and saves the leather. It is a little hard to see out the back in dark areas, but never have I been pulled over about it.

I have 30% on sides and hatch and think it looks great with no visability problems. Only downside is you can't show off your engine compartment if you ever want to without removing the tint. Don't tint the partition.

Just curious......why is every one so against tinting the divider window? I have no tint on any of my windows but was thinking on tinting just the divider glass to offer privacy (& block headlight glare) at night. I figured night visibility would improve over tinting the back hatch (curved glass = more distortion). I am not suggesting to tint both the divider window and back hatch...just the divider.
Also for those with carbon fiber cover or open (no cover) engine
compartments one could still show off their engine dress.
Has anyone just tinted the divider and had problems?
Thanks.:)

If it's not a daily driver, I would not tint the car. That way you can get the full enjoyment out of driving it day and night. It helps you connect to your environment, rather than filter it out.
