I've searched on this topic and I keep finding bad links to science of speed and some other site... Does anyone know where I can find instructions for removing the rear acura stickers from the rear center? I don't know how to get the lens off much less complete the job. Thanks.

Completed the project last night. Wasn't too bad at all. I went with the clean look. I'm happy with the transition.

I am going to try a new look...no stickers or emblem in rear center section...matter of fact I am going to repaint front end...chips etc..and not have a front emblem either...it kinda has a clean, keep em guessing look........brent:cool:

Did this last night, the A emblem cost me $8 from the Honda dealer and the RTV Silicon from Checkers was $4, took about 45 minutes, and is well worth it.

Can anyone tell me the method of removing the carpet behind the lens? I used a screw driver but it and the plastic screw turns and doesn't come out.
Sometimes the screw will just spin as you describe if it's stripped a little - insert a small pointed knife or similar behind the screw head & prise while you unscrew. The screw doesn't need to come out completely, just about 1/8" then pull the whole button out.

I'll try that - thanks.

So how do you remove the front bumper emblem. I assume pry it up and the clips will break?
The clips won't break off, you will need to pry it up far enough to cut them off. Remember though that there is also a double-sided adhesive under the emblem, as well as the clips, so you're going to have to work with that issue while protecting your paint.
I know Cairo94507 just did this, so maybe he can add more specific details

I want to know if the rear emblem on the new 04 taillight can be removed. If can, how do you do it? I want to put on the original type-R emblen on both front and rear.

Ken is right, I just did this last weekend.

First I ttok some of that heavy blue masking tape and placed several layers of that around the emblem to protect the paint. I put about 4 layers all the way around the emblem so you could not see the painted surface.

Then I used a plastic decal spreader, (like a plastic putty knife) to work under the emblem all the way around patiently and slowly working it a little at a time further under the emblem. The double stick tape will seperate and ultimately you will have broke the emblem free from the body where the tape hold it.

Then there are 2 plastic pins holding the emblem in place with clips on the underside of the body panel. Without removing the front bumper, you will not be able to get to the fasteners that secure the emblem. I used the plastic spreader to lift the emblem and then used a fine tooth small hacksaw blade and slipped it under the emblem and it took maybe 4 swipes to cut the pins, they are soft plastic, like the emblem. Once that was done the emblem came right off.

I then took a nice fine polish and cleaned the area of all residual two-sided tape and in my case, installed one of the red Acura emblems to match my red car. IMO it looks very clean.

Good luck.
Michael

As for the rear '04 emblem, I have no idea how it is affixed to the center section. It might just be two-sided tape since it is so thin.

You may have to bite the bullet and take one for the gipper and just try to remove it and see what happens and then tell all of us.
