Suggestions for 91 Stock Tires

Yeah, I know I'm still one of those guys with the stock tires and rims for the 1991. I wanted to bump up to "16&"17 with new rims but most of the packages were out of my price range for the time being and I need new tires to pass inspection. When I bought the car (20K miles ago) it had Toyos. I had to replace the rears about two years ago. I choose the Dunlop SP8000 and I've been pretty happy with them. Yes, I still have the toyo's in the front. Anyway I'd like to replace all four this month before inspection and wanted to see if there were any common suggestions. I've checked tire rack reviews and nothing seems to stand out for the stock '91 sizes. It's rarely driven in the rain (unless I get stuck somewhere when it's raining), I would like to best handling tire that gets a decent tread life-perhaps something similar to the dunlops.

Any suggestions??

It sounds like you've never tried the OEM tires - the Yokohama A022H or the Bridgestone Potenza RE010. I strongly recommend that you try a set. Because these two tires were designed specifically for the NSX, and even for the four specific corners of the NSX, they will give the very best handling "feel" of any tire. After using mismatched Toyos and Dunlops, they will really open your eyes to the feeling of driving on rails that the NSX is capable of. Sure, they wear somewhat quickly, but it's worth it. They're also the most popular tire on the NSX, according to polls done here on NSXprime.

If you try the OEM tires and the treadlife doesn't compensate for their superior handling, then I would suggest considering the Bridgestone Potenza S-03, which will give you handling about as good as any non-OEM street tire, and more treadlife than the OEM tires.

Incidentally, when most people say "stock tires", they are referring only to the OEM tires that were designed for the NSX (like the first two mentioned above) and not other, general-application tires.

I regularly see 16 & 17 factory wheels with OEM tires for sale in the marketplace from people who have gone the custom wheel route - that might be the way to go; it certainly would be very cost effective. The factory wheels are super high quality and very light - that is part of what gives the car such great throttle response.
